Mystery at Sea

well as i said, I would love to be on the eastbound repo if the route is PC, CC, NYC, then across the Atlantic to the English Channel and Le Havre...

i've gone across the Atlantic on that route and it's fine....i've even done it in storms in the middle of the winter and it was fine...

Here is a thought what is the cruise line doing with the ship between May 5 2007(return date of last Carib cruise) and May 12th the rumored date of repo cruise? :sunny:

maybe they've scheduled in some repair and maintenance time before the trek across the atlantic, which is a 'bit' more difficult than just cruising around the caribbean.
And maybe they want it to be in ship shape before descending on europe...

There is a May 5, 2007 cruise, getting back to port on May 12th.

This is what my DH decoded the message as:

Magic awaits. The queen just loves pizza.

It'll be interesting to see what others come up with.

Actually, it read "The queen just loves the pie".

The coordinates today point towards Port Alexander Alaska. The coordinates so far are:

Feb 27: 40 75'N 73 99'W (NYC)
Mar 8: 26 5'N 77 32'W (Castaway Cay)
Mar 10: 57 03'N 135 15'W (Port Alexander, Alaska)

When I look at the March 10 coordinates, I get Sitka, Alaska which is a cruise port for some lines.

In my translation, I also got the "queen loves the" but can't figure out this last word. The first part may be "pie" but what are the remaining letters??

Here is the last word in morse code:

.--. .. . .-.-.-

The last three .-.-.- are how you end a sentence.

Further, the law would require this ship to stop at a foreign port and last I checked, there are no independent countries between Alaska and Hawaii.

How about CANADA?

I'll bet the Repo cruise for the Med. departs NY and goes to Castaway Cay and then on to the Med! It's either that or they're just messing with us because they can!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

... all of the above! Thanks for adding some humor to our posts! :thumbsup2

Maybe they are telling us what the future holds...when they get the rest of the fleet built.

One on the west coast servicing Alaska, Mexico, and maybe Hawaii
One in the south pacific servicing Hong Kong (with stops in New Zealand)
One in the Atlantic servicing France and the UK and the Med

A ship for each Park (or two)

Anyway...probably just "DisneyDreaming" pixiedust:

Dear Disney Executives,

Please update the Mystery Site on your web site. I want to see what you have in store for us.
Thank you,
Lisa

Sitka Alaska is where Mount Edgecombe is...
and as another poster noted (see LynnTarrant's post on page 9 of this thread):

They are the coordinates of Mt Edgecombe in Alaska which was named by Captain Cook after Mount Edgecombe in ......wait for it Plymouth England!

since Plymouth, England is on the English Channel, maybe that's pointing to the route i'm hoping for, for the Eastbound repo cruise...

The latitude and longitude for the 3/8 clue are 8-mile long bay in the Bahamas, but the 3/10 clue shows Alaska.

Top that off with coins from Saint Thomas, Greek writing, a New Zealand paper and a postcard?

Is DCL just messing with us? Or are they maybe going to have a few new ships come onboard?

I'm soooooooooooo confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the Alaska clue, I know this is farfetched.... but could it be possible that DCL will announce two new itineraries..... Summer of 2007 - The Med and Summer of 2008 -Alaska!!
Great possibility!?!?

I haven't seen it mentioned here (or maybe I just missed it!) but there is a St. Michael's Cathedral (Roman Orthodox) in Sitka, Alaska. That would match the coins of St. Michael and the Alaska coordinates. :confused3

With as much fun as DCL must be having at our expense, Disney certainly must be the happiest place on earth to work! :rotfl2:

Hi all, I'm so glad to see that there are so many of you as excited as our family to follow the Mystery at sea. Last year, we went on the West Coast Mexico cruise twice. At the Castaway Club Captains reception the Captain said that the west coast cruise has been the most successful response they'd ever had to the cruise line and that it had created many new plans for the line. Then he asked the group where they would like to see the Magic go next? He asked very specifically if the audience would like to go to the Mediterranean or maybe Alaska. The audience clapped, but everyone yelled, "Hawaii!" Unfortunately, he never asked about Hawaii. The big rumor on the boat was that a third boat would be built to cruise the west coast permanently. See all of you there!

I'm positive that it's Hawaii and Alaska. I have a "source" who works at Disney and he confirms it. I'm packing my bags and getting ready for Hawaii!!!
