We are heading to MB this August (budget vaca this year). I am getting ready to reserve a room, and I am stuck between Avista, SeaWatch, Baywatch, Beach Cove and SeaSide............... Any advice????? Thanks!!

We always stay at our timeshare at Jade Tree Cove, but I love the location of Baywatch. It is right beside the condo (Seascape) my dad used to own. The area is not as congested as a lot of the areas at Myrtle Beach.

We stayed at Bay Watch 2 years ago and loved it. The beach was nice and they had alot of pools/hot tubs. Check in was hectic though. Not enough Bellhops with carts, and you can't use the carts without the Bellhops.

I've stayed at the Avista Resort before. The room was clean and well-decorated but the indoor pool area was over-chlorinated and smaller and not as maintained as other resorts in the area.

Edited to add: check out tripadvisor dot com. I use it a lot to compare hotels.

We stay at Seawatch every year. This is if you like a "hoppin'" atmosphere. There's a DJ at poolside twice a week, you got the poolside tiki bar, craft activities for the kids, on-premises restaraunt and even at night you have people hanging out by the main pools.

Don't know about any of the others, but if you want a quiet, relaxing vacation week, Seawatch is probably not the one. If you do want to book a unit at Seawatch, try going through ebay, craigslist or VRBO for the best deal.

Just curious, I've not head of these places. Are they mom and pop type spots or big high rises?

Ive not stayed at the ones you listed. However we ADORE the Dunes Village. You really gotta check them out! We have stayed there several times and just love it. GREAT rooms, awesome ameneties. great location.

Another vote for Dunes Village here. It's in a nice, quiet, clean area of the beach, and convenient to the main strip.

Has anyone stayed at the Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation? If so, I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Have stayed at Embassy Suites at Kingston for a conference. It is used a lot for conferences. You may want to check into that if that atmosphere bothers you. Ours was in February, so didn't get to check out the beach much, but the rooms were awesome! Of course, didn't use the pool either, but I do think they have an indoor pool also.

Kingston Plantation also has condo/villa rentals. The location is really convenient - right down the road from WalMart and the Tanger Outlets on Hwy. 17. The resort is gated and has ponds, etc. - very pretty.

I can't vouch for how crowded the beach is since I was there in February and it rained the entire time.

I priced the dunes...........little too much. I wanted to stay around 950.00 for 1 bedroom or less than 2000.00 for a 2/3 bedroom. We will split it with another family if we go with the more bedrooms. Anyone else stayed at the ones I asked about????????????? Thanks!
