mypoints redemptions for Disney

Just get a card for where you would normally shop on a monthly/weekly basis...Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc (I'm not sure what cards are available...)

Then the cash you would have spent that month that you didn't need to b/c you had the Mypoints card, use that cash to buy a Disney Gift Card

This is the route I'm going to take. The stores around me will not let you pay for a GC with another GC. I'm also not really interested in eating at any of the Landry's restaurants. I would if I had enough points to get a free meal, but $25 off of a meal I didn't really want anyway is not a good deal to me. I shop at CVS, Rite-Aid, & Walgreens (whoever has the best price on what I need) so I could choose any of those cards.

I'm so confused ! What does "cash out" mean? I would love to do this since I have a lot of coke reward points. I was planning to get some certificates for coke products and just use them instead of a snack credit.
Any suggestions as to what would be better?

. I'll have enough points for another $25 card in a few weeks but I don't know if I'll receive it in time for our trip...... if not, i will just save it and use it at Rainforest at some point or another. We usually end up there once a year or so for one of the kids' b-days.

My family really likes Steak and Shake and we drive to WDW so we are able to stop and get tthat on the way. Last year, I cashed out for a $25 GC for there just at about 6 weeks before our trip. I kept waiting and hoping and.....the day AFTER we got back it came in the mail. Oh well, now I have it for next time.

For this winter, I am requesting several $10 cards. My boys have a class in a great shopping area every Tuesday where I just drop them off for 2 hours and go. So, I have Panera, Barnes and Noble and Starbucks coming. Wheee.

How sad for you, I have always had prompt service, but I think it depends on the vendor. I nearly have enough for another $50 gas card, I love when I know the gas is free. I have gotten everything from restaurant cards to gifts for family members with the gift cards from different stores, sure has been a budget stretcher.

Unfortunately, I am addicted to Lancome. It is the only thing I order from MyPoints, but it pays 2,000 points for every $45 order! They recently had a special promotion where you'd get double points for your purchase and Lancome was one of the participating merchants. I bought my facial cleanser and exfoliant, paid $50, got a bunch of free samples with it and racked in 4,000 points!

I know how to work the system too...I went to EBates first, bought a $50 e-gift certificate to Lancome (earned 11% at the time...only 7% now) and turned around and used that to make the purchase through MyPoints. So, I spent $50...then subtract the 11% rebate (-$5.50)...then got 4,000 in MyPoints (worth a $25 gift card to almost anywhere)...so, I got all my Lancome products for a net outlay of about $19.50.

Now, whenever I buy Lancome, I buy the GC from Ebates first. That way, I get a little cash (about $3.50) on top of my 2,000 MyPoints. Since we only take one trip per year, I can usually earn enough for at least $150 in gift cards.

Does anyone know if there are any restaurants at Downtown Disney DLR that you can use any of the MyPoints giftcards for? We're going on our first trip to DLR next June, and I'd like to use the points I have to redeem for any type of food there.

(I have actually used the Walgreens giftcards for Disney cards, but it looks like that might become an issue soon. I'd like to try for something that I know we can definitely use for food there, if possible.)

The only place I know of DTD at Disneyland that has giftcards through MyPoints is the Rainforest Cafe. But there are some of the national chain places like Outback Steak House right on Harbor a few minutes from the park.
