Mypoints and "forgetting" to go through their link

My sister ordered a computer through Dell and forgot to use the mypoints link. Is there any way we can still get the points or are they all "lost"? I know the whole point is to use their link...

6,000 points down the drain. I never buy stuff online

If she can cancel her order and go back an replace it through the MyPoints link, then no, all is not lost.

If its too late to do that, then I think there isn't anything she can do. Sorry. I have made a similar mistake more than once in my rewarding days so I feel her pain.

Sorry to hear about your sister. I also clear all my cookies before placing an order online to make sure I link directly through the RP I'm using and get the points.

This happened to me with Cabelas. I emailed MP and told them I wasn't credited. They had me resend the order confirmation with subtotal and then it was credited within 30 days. Email them and tell them you used the link and you weren't properly credited.

Let me understand this, you did not use MP's link? To do this and still expect credit won't give MP credit unless their link is used. They are quite generous to give out the points in this case. I've been reading from affiliate managers that using programs like their "shopping reminder" is frowned on and in some cases not allowed as it is basically spyware.
I've also had to email companies about missing credit to find out that a person used another sites link and wanted credit through my site or inadvertently used a link in the company's email, grabbed their discount code then tried to use my links. Companies don't credit these orders, its a way for them to not pay affiliates.

Also remember, you do need to clear cookies as D said, some link's cookies don't automatically refresh and can be in place for another site for up to a year!!
