Well, if word is going around that you can get 2 or 3 sets of FPs I would be shocked if TSMM fps stayed around very long this month.

This really is the lynchpin of the entire complicated system. TSMM is used as the prime example of why FP+ is going to be amazing, and at the same time used as the model for forcing a feeding frenzy at 60 days out.

And we are still waiting for a real test...8 months later.

Checking in from AKL. Arrived yesterday via ME and no band issues at airport. Same with room door. At check in I was given an info card, support is here at the hotel and was given a thank you for participating letter from the hotel manager. Today is my first park day so we shall see how it goes. I set everything up from home. Later all!

And this is what I'm afraid of for those of us without the choice to use FP+. Are we going to be left out? We're not usually rope drop people, but do get to the parks fairly early. We've never had a problem getting on rides or getting any FPs that we wanted. But I'm seeing now that we'll have to get there earlier and earlier if we expect to be able to do all the big rides.

I'm really hoping to see more reports back from people there now--both those who have the FP+ and those who don't. Just to see what their experiences are and to figure out what I can expect in a couple weeks!

Just checked in to CR computers were down not given cards and absolutely no info on bands.

I guess that would explain how someone would be in a standby line with a gray band not knowing how the system works.

from twitter today:

"@WonderlandNerds: Heard from a CM that punches have been thrown over MyMagic+ - a guest punched a CM when his band wouldn't work."

i wonder if we can make a FP+ reservations to watch the fights?

Questions for the folks who already scheduled FP+s for the test this month...

Did you get everything you wanted? Were there any attractions you wanted that were "sold out"?

I feel sorry for the CMs who have to deal with the general public with all of these changes.

Some people are going to see people just tapping the bands and going through the FP line and not understanding that you need the reservation too....Or even just blatantly try to cheat and get past it....Ugh

Agree. Way too many people will try to do things like that. Cheating and trying to take advantage of others is how they get their kicks.

Those are the people who will try to cheat with the current system.

Back to the "how My Magic + is doing in the parks" initial post, which implied MM+ is causing fights to break out. I'm not so sure this person wouldn't have punched a CM if their KTTW or third-party ticket (vs MB) hadn't worked though. Some people are just in desperate need of anger management/therapy. Nothing excuses a person punching a CM for something as dumb as the ticket not working.

Some people get a little nutty at WDW. I've seen women with strollers knocked over by someone shoving their way onto a parking tram and fights started because someone cut in line to see Mickey. The main justification is "I spent a lot of money to come here so I'll do what I want."

Sad really.

And of course everyone, anyone with a magic band volunteered to be a part of a test. So why would you volunteer for a test, knowing that it may not work perfectly, and then punch people when it doesn't work?

Agreed! If you agree to the test, then flip out when the MB doesn't work on the turnstiles (because none of us have ever had to re-scan our finger and/or put the KTTW in again 5-7 times to get in), you are in need of some serious help!

The Disney PR is in overdrive on this test, spinning it as the latest and greatest thing. So people think they are getting something special, not realizing all they are getting is a potential huge headache.

as is being discussed in one of the other threads, how many of those guests actually understand this is a test? Someone mentioned that guests who checked in had no clue and were given MBs. "This is our new program! We're rolling it out slowly and you are one of the lucky ones chosen to use it! It's great- just swipe your band and everything will be grand!"

There's never an excuse for violence and general jerkish behavior, regardless of the situation. But given how some guests behave without the FP+ twist, I can't say I'm shocked.

Mice Chat doesn't seem to think full MM+ and FP+ is going to be happening any time soon:

The MyMagic+ system also won’t get a keynote address at D23 Expo, but not because the execs behind the program didn’t want to be ready to talk about it by now. Unfortunately, the rollout has been repeatedly delayed and the limited tests of the system at WDW have seen more bugs and problems crop up than they’d hoped for. MyMagic+ will have a techno-display in the WDI pavilion, but the display will stick with vague promises of future offerings rather than a big infomercial type plug from senior Disney execs in the arena.

I've gotten each attraction I've wanted, but not always at the exact time I want it. I've missed out on shows though, I keep checking back because it seems to be random when they pop up for me. I do have Wishes as a FP+ though, so I'm happy with that! I just really want to try and get Illuminations in.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are available before my trip in November, I've been itching to try this groundbreaking technology since the info on it was leaked two years ago.

For those that have tested the magic bands and FP+, are you constantly on your phone checking for better times and options or making changes? This is what I fear is going to be happening and I will get sucked in to it. I generally like to ditch the phone on vacation, but with this new technology, I don't see that happening.

There's never an excuse for violent bahaviour, so if in fact this is true, the person who did it is a nut case.

I do get that frustrations are likely high because, from several accounts so far, Disney are doing just about everything on the list of "what not to do when running a beta test". They have untrained staff, they have a buggy system that has been buggy for months and known to them that it's that way yet they still push and force the test when it clearly wasn't ready. It's pretty obvious to me that there are executive at Disney whose bonus this year is riding on this thing being implemented by date x and it will happen, no doubt, but it's not going to be pretty while it does.

I think once all the dust settles and once it is actually working properly (however long that will take), it will be fine. But, it could've gotten to fine a lot easier, all be it later, if they'd followed a better implementation plan.
