When trading in our APs for the cards in May, the CM told us the old FP system WILL be phased out as FP+ comes on board. She said it will be a very short period of overlap and she thinks it would be complete by September.
Forgive me, but I have to point out that a front-line CM would have no inside knowledge of any of this.
If that kind of info had been presented to CM's at those levels, we would have had headlines trumpeting the news on at least a dozen fan sites.
(We have many front-line CM's on this board as regular posters.)
Not trying to criticize YOU, as you were just repeating what you were told.
I'm just saying that the person who told you would not know these things as facts.
I am a bit concerned that despite Disney saying resort people will be able to reserve FP+ 60 days out, it will only apply to people who already have ticket media. I originally intended to buy tickets at SoG once I arrived. But on the bright side I can enjoy WDW with no FP at all so while I will hope for good answers, I wont lose sleep over it.
So far they are saying that everyone...not just resort people... Will be able to book 60 days out. As of right now disney resort people do not have any special perks with FP+ that isn't offered to non resort guests as well. That being said there are a TON of unanswered questions regarding FP+ and I hope it does not roll out by November!!!
Sorry if what i wrote was confusing!! what i was attempting to say was that Several dissers have emailed and subsequently spoken to "team leaders" that have called them regarding FP+ concerns. One of the few consistencies amongst the CMs has been that you are NOT required to be a Disney resort guest or have a MYW package... Just a Disney ticket.... To prebook FP+ rides 60 days out. Now how this works without a ticket purchase and a resort only I do not know. And I don't know how it works when you purchase from someone like UT unless you enter your ticket number into the system or such. But at least with the initial rollout Disney is currently saying it isn't giving FP+ to just Disney resort guests or packages purchases. It is for everyone w a ticket purchase to the parks.
Of course for those that save the purchase of tickets until the last minute due to finances to me this seems to be a huge issue!
FYI
The only other real consistency with the CM answers is the fade out of FP when FP+ is rolled out.![]()
Hmm...saw a report on Facebook from someone currently there this weekend that they are testing the Magicbands...hasn't heard of another test running yet.
probably wasnt a test it was probably someone who has gotten their Magicband, my GF's family member is working on the project to convert the AP's to Magicbands. anyway my GF has her magicband now as do other family members of people working on the project. we were at the MK yesterday and she used it, and got a million questions from Guests and CM's lol. really right now with no FP+ test going on it works just like a RFID ticket the touch to pay isnt up yet and for fast pass machines she was able to use her old hard RFID ticket. so really it just worked to get into the park, anyway i'm not sure if the hard ticket and band were just duplicates of the same RFID code or something in the system was changed to allow her to still use both but it could be part of this "test" so take the info they both worked as a grain of salt. anyway thats probably the "test" people saw. on another note im trying to get her family member to hook me up too! wish me luck lol..
It could be a MagicBand only test...but it was the person actually with the MagicBand that reported it, not just a sighting of one.
We know that many of you are excited to give FastPass+ a try, and we ask for your patience during this testing period.
