I noticed on MDE account yesterday that it wants me to link my AP to the FP+ -- I started to do that, but it got to the last page and said that once I link my AP I cannot unlink it? It also gave me the opportunity to link my DH's yet to pickup PAP with the voucher number (I tried but didn't finish it). Strangly I have THREE cards associated with my FP+ account and one for SOME of my family members. My DH has FOUR cards associated with his FP+ account. The cards all say "not yet activated, and wants me to click to activate them". does anyone know why my DH has 4 cards and why I have 4 cards next to our names? :confused3 We have a reservation in October with only the 2 of us on it. Not sure if I'm ready to activiate these cards or link my AP yet. I have 3 months before my trips, but can do online check in next month at the 60 day mark.

Just don't do anything.

....... or where you can stay onsite and get endless privileges to cut in front of everyone else.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

we love Universal's unlimited xpress pass....wish Disney would adopt that idea but probably wouldn't work too well since Disney has many more resorts & onsite guests.

I can't remember which thread people posted about individually modifying FP+ times after the initial selection so I'm posting here. Lol

Just wanted to say thanks for the info as I finally figured it out and was able to line up our FP+ times properly. There was no indication of the ability to do this on the site until I clicked onto each booking individually so I appreciate that our testing day is easier now.

I stacked the times so we will now have

RNRC 9:55-10:55
TSM 10:55-11:55
Star tours 11:55-12:55

That leaves plenty of time to ride TOT in between RNRC and TSM so no backtracking and we can hit up muppets after ST and then leave the park before lunch.

It could work if they built more attractions. 1.5 billion dollar worth!

Why would they spend money on new attractions when they can finance FP+ instead?

We talk about the access to three FP per day and the opportunity to get more throughout the day if available. Those three FP have to be for different attractions but I wonder if those added FP could be for an attraction already selected? In other words, if I get TSM, Star Tours and the Muppets, could the APP offer Star Tours once again later in the day?

More we don't know. ;)

This is the part I don't think Disney counted on. FP+ really has the potential to allow people to just show up for some well-timed attractions and............ leave. Many of them will then go offsite.

I think it also allows for someone to stay onsite at US, do those parks in the AM with express pass, then head over to Disney for some of those coveted evening FP+ return times at Disney.

agreed. but attractions only bring profits by way of attracting more crowds to spend their dollars directly on consumeables....so that would be a less profitable scenerio for Disney when they can presumably extract more dollars from the current crowd and not create significantly larger overhead. I'm sure $1.5b in attractions costs much more to run than $1.5b MyMagic+ system.

which would actually be great, because that means there is the 'hit & run' crowd for attractions, so they are not crowding the parks..in & out and make room for the next guy. i'd be willing to bet that a high percentage of FP "super users" do more than just FP attractions. If you only do FP attractions and scram, then crowd level just dropped.

It can't be great for people to start considering all parks half day parks. The goal is to get people in the parks, out of lines and into be our guest type places. Not to get people in the park for their FP+ and out so there is plenty of time to ride journey to Atlantis at sea world or get in a few turns at Spider-Man.

I agree that there is definitely an up side to that for other guests. But isn't this about getting people to spend more money in the parks?

You said you liked the concept, but Disney couldn't do it. But they could. They just choose not to.

It does sound like a great plan. If EMH goes away, and they extend the hours slightly for off site guests, like a Disney rep said in the Sentinel article, it would cater even further to this.

I think there are plenty of unintended consequences to come once Disney lets this genie out of the bottle.

Disney can control what they can.

Guests will control what they can.

yes, but i was speaking to those of us who only care about how many attractions we can cram in wiht little to no wait. that seems to be a recurring theme in discussions that "i can't do as many attractions with little to no wait as i used to".

'hit & run' guests may not be very profitable to Disney at all other than them paying admission without using many resources or for very long. However i don't think that is the model they are after. keeping guests on property and in park is definitely a more profitable venture.

Yes, I'll be happy to have those guests off the walkways, but they are quite possibly doing the same number of attractions they would have done before..... just doing them more efficiently.

not sure i follow you 100% on this post but here is my position.

i would love more attractions, more gates. when they do that, who knows.

i am all on board with FP+ because while it may have a bumpy roll out (FP had reports of bumpy roll outs yet many are trying to cling to it till the bitter end) i believe ultimately it will work. will we be able to cram in as many FP+'s as we did FP, probably never. will it ruin the ability to do as many attractions per day as pre FP or current FP? i doubt it. parks are a fixed capacity, attractions are a fixed capacity. just like with FP, it will all come down to how one learns to utilize all the resources at their disposal. i envision our future trips when FP+ is implemented to be a combination of FP+ prebook, FP+day of changes, watching wait times on an app, good old spontaneous stand by and any other potential tricks Disney has up their sleeve.

yes, which also means if they just hit & run on their 3 or 4 FP+'s and then are out of the attraction circulation (who knows, they may shop & eat) it also takes them out of the group that does stand by - either by watching wait times on apps or just getting in a line. either way, it is reducing the overall crowd level for the day with regards to attractions.

This also has me thinking about another group, the locals...FP+ could cater very nicely to locals with AP's. i know that DLCA was a ton of fun as a local when we lived in SoCal. I know if i lived near WDW with an AP, I would definitely become a hit & run guest. what could be better than to head to the park for just a few hours and do my favorite attractions and then head back home...week after week after week....
