My 3 year old was at her weekly swimming lesson today, and the teacher decided it was time to ditch the arm bands.
For the last 2 weeks, she has had next to no air in them, and been using a float.
Today she used no arm bands and no floatation aids, and did two widths (about 15-20 feet) on her own, then did most of the length of the pool unaided (maybe 25-30 feet), and in fact only stopped when she knew she could put her feet down at the shallow end.
It was what you might call a "breakthrough" lesson...I was really proud of her
