We are in the home stretch!! Only 9 days to go until we make the big move to Alaska. Still have some boxes to ship. Tomorrow my best friends are coming to town for a sleepover, Saturday we drive to Minneapolis for my oldest son's Master Degree ceremony, back on Sunday ( 500 miles round trip) , work on Mond. , Tues., and Thurs., and go back to Mpls. on Wed. to fly out on Friday. A thousand loose ends to tie up but overall, I think we are doing fine. Husband is singing," All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go!" let the adventure begin!!

What made you guys want to move to Alaska? My DH hopes to go there to visit someday.

We lived there 20 years ago. We are empty nesters and are going back to beef up our retirements and pay off a few things. It just seemed like the right time to do this. We'll see. Still feeling anxious that I have thought of everything.

Good luck to you all! did your husband find a job there or is he waiting until you get up there? Last I remember reading you had one but he did not yet.

Yes, he got and better job than he had first applied for. Pays to be a Heating Technician when you are going to a place that can be -60 below for a couple weeks in a row. We are excited to get going!
