My Wii Fit

I liked the comment on having trouble walking!! lol I have lost over 107 pounds, and got the wii because I cannot walk well and cannot do a gym! so this comment made me laugh because I CANNot walk and the game would be correct!

I got mine for Christmas and set it up last Sunday. So far, I love it. The only part I find annoying is when my weight went up about one pound and I had to choose a reason for the weight gain. :headache: My favs are the boxing, the step and some of the yoga and strength exercises. My least favs are the balance games, but those are the ones I need the most! :rotfl:

I stepped on the WII Board for the first time in June 2008. I hit the board running at 208 lbs.

I felt the same way as many on this thread, throw it out the window. That little voice is an excellent motiviator. The BMI rating of obese was a bigger motivator!

After about 6 months, I would only use WII Fit for a daily weigh in. As of today, I'm holding steady at 168 lbs.

Congrats!!!!

I'm at a good weight and BMI according to the Wii. However, the machine delights in telling me that I don't have good balance. I'm working towards losing 10 lbs in a month. If I do, I'll jump for joy.

But don't jump on the Wii board, or she'll yell at you and you'll have to start over. Just sayin...not that I have ever jumped on it :rolleyes1

My neighbor got one for Christmas, it told her she was to big for the board... I'm sure she would be happy with the groan.....lol

I was using Wii fit for a while there, and only used it when I was in the room by myself so my family wouldn't hear the "that's obese!" and other embarrassing stuff. :upsidedow

My DD got Just Dance for Christmas, and that's my NEW exercise routine! WICKED fun game, I love it, and it makes me sweat! :thumbsup2

Yes Just Dance is a workout. But it so fun for the family to play. We play it all day of Christmas too.

:rotfl: Thanks for the warning!!

The noises the Wii Fit makes drives me crazy, too! And I feel so stupid letting a game get the best of me! But what I find really irritating is that the Wii Fit thing seems to have some sort of crush on DH. I'm the one that gets on it every day, but it is always commenting about him! Last year, for several weeks leading up to his birthday, it would remind me that his b-day was coming up and then suggest that I throw him a surprise party. :rotfl2: It would also always ask me if I had noticed whether or not DH looked better lately. :confused3

Creepy!

Check your husband for Wii shaped lip prints. ;):lmao:

Anyone know if it's OK to use the Wii Fit with shoes? The instructions say to take shoes off, but if I exercise at all without shoes, my plantar fasciitis acts up.

We were watching QVC yesterday. The Wii Fit was the TSV. Many of the people using it had their shoes on. We didn't think you were supposed to wear them either.

I have a host of foot problems and cannot exercise w/o shoes. I wear shoes on the Wii and haven't had any problems. As long as you're not jumping on it, which you aren't supposed to do even barefoot, I don't think you're going to hurt it. The one thing I did do was to get a silicone cover/sleeve for it so the tread on the shoes wouldn't mark it up.

Having fun with Wii fit and the games too. Learning left side of my body is apparently a mess, lol. It's weaker and stiffer. Interesting.

We have wall-to-wall carpeting with a very thick cushy pad under it. The Wii Fit doesn't like that. It doesn't respond well.

I've tried a small piece of plywood under it, but it still acts up.

:guilty:

I don't have a Wii and have been considering it, mainly because of Wii fit. I've been thinking there might be deals to be had right now. This thread is interesting. I wear shoes because my feet are bad and I have carpet where I use it. HMM.

My main concern, however, hasn't been addressed here. I'm not extremely obese, but I am the heaviest in my family since dh and the boys all struggle to keep enough weight ON. If I program my weight and other info in, can they see it? I hate to say it, but this is seriously a deal breaker for me!

Can anyone answer my question?

You can add a password so that no one else can see it. My 14 Y.O. did this so her sister couldn't see.

And unless you have a high pile carpet, you should be fine

When you are setting up your info it gives you the option to set a password so that others cant see your weight. There is a weight limit on the Fit too. Not sure what your weight is, but the limit is 330 pounds I think.

After reading everyone stories, I think I want one. I really need to lose about 45 lbs.
