My wife says im obsessed with the boards

DH and I had this conversation when I first joined the DIS. Anything I talked about was in reference to something on the DIS...people, places, things...whatever. He grew tired of it pretty quickly! :rotfl:

Now...almost 7 years later, he's used to it. I try to edit my conversations so that i'm not constantly talking about the DIS, but it still happens. He's a member around here too...but just doesn't post or visit much. I'm trying to get him involved, but he's a very busy man. Maybe as we get closer to the cruise or even after the cruise, he'll start hanging out here a bit more!

Or he'll be so incredibly freaked out by everyone on the podcast cruise that he'll forbid me from coming here ever again...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That won't happen...he's had some weirder circles of internet friends in his past than DISers...I think my DIS membership is safe, no matter how weird y'all are on this podcast cruise! After all, he's already met J-Kim! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hope to see you posting soon J-Kim!! We miss (picking on) you around here!!

I got "The Look" from my wife just a few minutes ago! :rotfl: I logged onto the boards around 2pm today and it's now close to 5pm. She came into the room, saw my computer screen and yup..there was The Look.

Now..in three days when we're at WDW, she's going to be so happy because I've booked all our ADR's, booked the Keys to the Kingdom tour as a surprise to her (booked it after hearing the review on the podcast) and am working with concierge to get the Chef's table at Citrico's! All of these goodies are because of stuff I've learned on the Dis and through the podcast. :lovestruc

But still...The Look continues. OH..and it's even better when I tell her that no way, no how, are we eating at such-n-such place, because Kevin hates it. :lmao:

"Obsession"? What is this "obsession" of which you speak? I do not understand.

Hi my name is Melissa and I'm obsessed with the podcast board. :rotfl:

Just wanted to join the support group. :goodvibes

The sad thing is I feel like I have to hide when I'm on the boards. If I hear my husband coming downstairs, I quickly switch to a different screen. If he sees anything Disney related on the computer he just gives me "that look". I mean he enjoys going to DisneyWorld. He just doesn't understand this obsession.

At least this addiction is not harmful to my body. And it does calm my mind inbetween trips. So maybe it's a good thing. :thumbsup2

Wow! This sounds a little like my life. My husband has finally come to a point where he likes Disney, and he is slowly building up a tolerance for my disboard addiction. On occasion, he will even enjoy a podcast with me. But when I get in the dis chat room, the eyes start rolling, the irritated tone comes out in his comments and he starts huffing and puffing around the house. This has caused me to try to sneak away during chat hours if he is occupied to see how long I can get away with chatting before he realizes what I'm doing.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

I had this problem for years. :rotfl: Then DH started listening to the podcast and now he's hooked on the boards. He doesn't plan, he just goes with the flow. :goodvibes Last night at Midnight, I woke him up to ask what he thought about my vacation plans for 2011, yep, 2011. :rotfl:

Alicia, your story gives me hope! Thanks for that. :)

No kidding!!!!! 10 minutes ago I was explaining the boards to my husband and showing him my first thread ever and how awesome you all are answering my questions (including pictures!) and he just makes this grunting sound (which is his way of ackowledging without ignoring me). He's used to my non-stop Disney obsession, if he only knew what's ahead of him now that I have gotten the courage to post! HA HA! I envy the couples where both partners are dis freaks (not just fans, because mine is a fan), but we would probably just be broke from to many vacations! Off to dream Disney - good night!

Okay, so my wife says i'm obsessed with the boards. Every conversation we have ends up about Kevin or Julie, or Corie. etc... She says that after our upcoming trip im going to have a meltdown or depression.
I need ideas to show her that she's wrong. I mean, I do stay up after shes asleep and blog for a couple hours every night, and I am an obsessive trip planner, but I think Ill be ready to go back to work after 14 days at the parks..
I dont plan to stop blogging after the trip, do most people? The thing is, I try to listen to the podcast when she is with me, and she always enjoys it or laughs and asks "were not going to the sad little crab cake place are we?" , but as soon as its over, shes back on her "your too obsessed with the boards" kick.
Anyone else have this problem?
Is there a support group?

Ummm- we are the support group :lmao:

My sister- who also loves Disney might I add, believes I need an intervention LOL :rotfl2:
Hey, I am happy every day because of Disney, the podcast and these boards- how can anyone complain about that?? Better than any medication I say :)

My husband did the same thing. Then I started listening to the podcasts when he was around. Last week he asked hey why wasnt there a show on this week. I am making progress on him. He looks when I am in chat and ocassionally will use my name to visit thte boards maybe some day he will post. A few times I have posted stuff he asked me to post. So there is hope. ;)

Wow, that's impressive! DH listens sometimes, not on his own, but i KNOW he would never get on the boards, just not his thing. Oh well- at least he is a disney lover. I can give him anything with Mickey on it as a gift and he loves it!

My DH can't talk since he is on World of Warcraft for 8 hours at a time and all hours of the night.

So neither of us really says anything to the other about our obsessions. :rotfl:

My DH has no interest in the boards or disney. He is just now coming around to actually being interested in going again, but I know he will feel the magic ten fold on our next trip now that we have a child. I would love it if he shared my passion, but he doesn't......no biggie. at least he doesn't hate the mouse! :wizard:

This is how Paul started...;) He just celebrated his 1000th post. :rotfl:

Never say never! :lmao: DH used to be the same way. :rolleyes1

Hi....my name is Applemomma....I'm a disboards/podcast addict.....and a Disney obsessive. Is there a twelve step program to go along with the support group?

Currently I'm getting the "look" from my spouse for cruising on the boards, obsessivly studying airline websites and the biggest "look/grunt" came from my purchase of a Walt Disney biography!

Took my first vacation to the World since I was a kid in 2007 and fell head over heals in love. Plotting everyday how to get back there and hubby just does not get it. I'm pretty sure he could take it or leave it but I'm working on getting him back one more time in 2010 before I start doing it on my own with the kids. I plan to be a little old lady sitting on a bench on Main Street in my 90's people watching. Certainly helps that my best friend just moves to Ocala, Florida and I've pretty much demanded that she become my Disney buddy.

I just know that if I could get hubby to listen to a podcast or two he'd be hooked since it would show him that there is so much more to Disney World then crowds and kid stuff!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:
Wow, I would really love to tell that to my wife, I think it's hilarious, but then Im just setting myself up for "the look"

I tried but went down in flames - I think it was my delivery.
