We just got home from a trip to my local camera shop. I just got a new lens and a monopod :yay::yay::yay:! I got the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 and the Manfrotto 682b and a ball head for the top. I can't wait to go try them out. I have read such great things about that lens. Anyone else have either of these things?

Congrats! I've heard really great things about that lens! :goodvibes

interested in your opinion of the monopod have been thinking about picking up that model for a trip to Disney as an alternative to getting another lighter tripod than the slik 700 that I have

Nice! I've been waiting patiently for that lens to be available. Our camera shop hasn't gotten it yet and everywhere I check online is still out:(

Huh, just went to B&H website. They have it in! I was hoping to get it at my local Ritz but don't know if I can wait!

When I picked up my lens today, I explained to him the problems I seen people having on here getting that lens. My camera guy told me that if anyone needs one of these lenses, they should call him. He may be able to get one in sooner and he is a great guy. He works for Shutterbug. If anyone wants more information, let me know.

Congrats on anyone that can satisfy a Nikon itch!! Don't think you will need the monopod for the 35!!!:rotfl:

I just ordered it from B&H. Just couldn't wait for Ritz any longer. I called them today and they still didn't know when they'd get some in. Ritz online still shows them on order- will ship when received. I think it will be perfect for my DD to use to shoot her boyfriend's band in a few weeks:) My 50mm was ok but wider would be much better. Now for that 85mm:)

So when are you going to post some pics you took with that 35mm? I'm dying to see how they turn out. :)

I would also like to hear your opinion on that monopod you bought. I have one, but don't like it due to the lack of stability, and the one you picked up looks like it might be a better alternative.
