My, What an Interesting Carpet Bag~A Dec. 2013 TR!*Remember Me?!*PTR for May 2015 Link, pg 23!*

Glad you got to meet Pluto!!

Boo to splash being down.

I hope the little cute ducklings weren't really hurt!!!!

See, I'm glad others like that angle of the Train Station (first photo). I always take a picture from there since everyone else is standing in the center. So pretty.

Disney ducks. Those mama ducks sure do love their kids. And how cute that Brandon was so concerned.

So nice to see Town Square like that when in only a couple of days all the cameras and junk will show up and ruin it, lol.

Poor Splash. I swear it's down now more than it's running. :(

One regret I have is not visiting WL this trip, but I felt the need to focus on resorts I hadn't seen. Still makes me sad though.

Omg, that duck story is adorable. I'll take your word for it that none of the babies got eaten! It's sweet that Brandon was so concerned though!

Why is Splash always down? It's so sad.

Glad you got to meet Pluto, it sounds like he was so much fun to meet!

Wilderness Lodge really is beautiful, isn't it? Someday when I'm a Florida local, I'm just gonna spend a weekend there relaxing at Christmastime.

Disney ducklings are even cuter than regular non-Disney ducklings lol. We saw some a few years ago right in the middle of Tomorrowland. They were eating popcorn that dropped on the ground near the popcorn cart. They were a little bigger than the ones you saw, I think.

OK the pic of you at the WL is ADORABLE!! As are all of the pics you took with Pluto AND the one at the train station! I think you look great! :thumbsup2 I actually really like that Pluto shirt, a lot!

I swear, that Boma story sounds exactly something that would happen with me and Lumar! I'd be sitting there...waiting....and waiting.... and then I'd finally get a text like 20 minutes later saying he's in the bathroom. :sad2:

How you feel about the WL is how I feel about AKL! I could just sit around the indoor fire pit, or out the balcony, all day. I actually got quite a lot of use out of our balcony in October!

ETA: And the Dog Kangaroo is a Mara! It's a rodent! ::yes:: At first I thought it was the Capybara but that one looks like a giant guinea pig so I knew that was wrong... But they're related!

So glad you had a great character meet with Pluto! Too bad Splash was down, though. That is a really nice picture when you first got to the Magic Kingdom.

That first picture of the MK entrance is beautiful! I love how the red of the poinsettas just pops.

PLUTO!! Yes I do shout that when I see him in other TRs. :rotfl: Sounds like an awesome meet and greet with him. I've never met him on Main Street because there is no shade. I prefer the greet in AK because the line is all shaded and is rarely crowded.

What a bummer that Splash was down and that the lines were so long for other rides.

That cake pop looks yummy! I had one when I went last March and was surprised to find that the ears were marshmellow.

Love the picture when you first arrived at the MK...beautiful.

I love the photos with Pluto...very cute.

Sorry you missed Splash Mountain again. We never even went near it on this trip (although we were only at the MK for party night anyway).

Can't wait to hear where dinner is.

I'm curious about dinner, too!

Yay for meeting Pluto! Mission accomplished!

I also love the picture of the entrance of MK all decked out in its Christmas finery!

Aw, I've never seen the kangaroo/dog animal. He's so cute and so are the Disney ducklings

I was very sad when you said there were no goat cheese eggs. Those are the best! Very happy to hear they have them on different days. Although it stinks if you end up there on regular egg days.

Poor Brandon. Too much Boma goodness too quickly. Even I don't think I could eat an omelet after being sick and you know how much I can eat.

The Wilderness Lodge looks so beautiful. I would love to stay there again soon. The Mickey waffles with whipped cream and chocolate chips plus the best hash browns on Disney property from Roaring Forks are my favorite Disney breakfast ever.

AKL is awesome too. A split stay between the two would be awesome. I was kind of disappointed by our savannah view on our trip but I loved the pool view we had. I think the chances of getting a bad savannah view are low though and if we were there longer I probably would have been asked to move.

Your picture with Pluto looks nice and the picture with you and Brandon came out very good.

Ugh, I hate when an attraction you've been waiting forever to ride is down. It can make you so disappointed, because you'd gotten your hopes up and were excited to experience the thrills again. Hopefully you got to go on it later on in the trip. :thumbsup2

That Pluto interaction sounds fantastic. I bet he was thrilled to see someone sporting his picture on their shirt. Minnie and Mickey get that all the time. Heck, even Goofy has a lot of shirts after his namesake, but Pluto doesn't have as many. :rotfl2: You can even tell in your photos that Pluto loved you; he was standing way closer to you than Brandon. :rotfl:

Cute little ducklings.
Maybe a gator dragged them under???
The Pluto interaction sounds like fun.
Great updates and pics.

Can you just imagine? Oh it's my day off today, I think I'll take a wee cruise to Magic Kingdom, brb... :lovestruc In my dreams that's how it is. ::yes::
Love that first pic, so pretty and so sums up the place and season. :thumbsup2
It was a good plan to grab a Splash FP and then go back for Pluto. Glad you got such a great interaction and photo with Pluto (so cute!) but too bad about Splash being down. :(
Cutest, littlest ducklings ever! Omg! So sweet that Brandon was so concerned (but I'm not going to lie, I hope he was wrong!)

Pluto, Where are You???

Sunday, December 1, Part 2

Hi everyone! When we left off, we were just getting on a boat, sailing away to the Magic Kingdom! Don't you wish it was that easy in real life? Oh, just gonna take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom today, no big deal...

Anyway, we got there, went through bag check, used our lovely Magic Bands to get in, and we were about to go in when I had to stop for a picture...and I'm so glad I did, because I got one of my favorites of the entire trip!

Ahh, I just love it! It's just so perfectly Magic Kingdom-y and Christmas-y! :lovestruc

We went in and made our way to the left for some reason...I think I was stalking Pluto, to see if he was out

Which sadly he wasn't! Figures, the one character I want to meet wasn't out! So I got my phone out to check the character times, and he was supposed to be back out in about 20 minutes. So I asked Brandon if he minded waiting and he didn't care so I guess we were stuck in the Magic Kingdom! What a horrible problem to have, right? :rotfl:

I was dying to go on Splash Mountain, since it seemed like forever since I've been on that ride! It was closed in February when I was there with my sister, and it just seemed like it was years! And it was hot, so I didn't even mind if I got wet!

We walked all the way to Splash and grabbed FP's that were ready in an hour, which was perfect! That way we could go back to Town Square, meet Pluto, then go back to Splash!

On the way back to Main Street, we were distracted by...Disney ducklings!!! :lovestruc

They were the TINIEST, cutest little ducklings that I've ever seen! Like it seemed like they just hatched that morning, they were so tiny! And the mom duck was ferocious, she did not want any male ducks near her babies, if they got close she would swim at them all fast and quack like a crazy duck...it was so cute to watch!

Brandon got all upset though, because he said he counted them and while we were watching, he said a few disappeared...he assumed they swam off and got eaten. Now he's not normally a pessimist like that, usually that's something I would say and let it ruin my day, but he was convinced we just witnessed these ducklings swim off to their death. So I was like "what do you think ate them exactly? Boy ducks? An invisible hawk that swooped down that we just didn't see?" I tried to convince him they were fine and he just miscounted, but he was seriously upset about this. :confused3 I was sure they were fine...that mommy duck was doing a good job protecting them!

After the duck event, we were back on beautiful Main Street!

And we hopped in line to meet Pluto, I think we were maybe 4th or 5th in line, it wasn't too long of a wait before we were meeting him!

As soon as Pluto saw me walk up with my Pluto shirt on, he was so excited! He was jumping around, pointing and just doing cute Pluto things! And then his character attendant said "oh look Pluto, even her bow matches you!" and he looked at it, gave me a hug and made a licking dog sound when he hugged me! So adorable, I loved meeting him, made our spontaneous MK trip totally worth it! :thumbsup2

We said goodbye to Pluto and we were ready to go back to Splash...but we didn't want to walk, so we went up to the train station to hop on the train, since the Fronteirland stop is actually at Splash Mountain!

While we were up there, I wanted one of those beautiful, iconic pictures of Main Street that people always get up there...but I was a bit off center haha!

Oh well, this is why I'm not a photographer I guess!

I asked Brandon to take a picture of me with Main Street in the background...again, this is the best he could do.

:confused3 I do like that you can see Marie in the picture!

The train took forever to arrive, and it was packed, but we finally found a spot to sit. For some reason, I checked the Disney app while we were on, and it said Splash was down! :scared1: WHAT??? We have Fast Passes!!! Ugh...I was hoping maybe it was wrong, but when we pulled up to the station, sure enough, it was closed. So we stayed on the train and got off in New Fantasyland.

We went into Big Top treats for a little while and I got a lovely, Christmasy cake pop!

Brandon got one too, which was different than mine, it was supposed to be a reindeer that had pretzels for ears, but he devoured it before I could take a picture! :rotfl2:

We walked by the Little Mermaid ride, which I was hoping to go on, but nope, line was too long. I was starting to get annoyed with the crowds in MK that day, I figured they'd be light since it was a MVMCP night, but it was really crowded! Guess you have to expect that the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Still, it seemed abnormally crowded. Sigh.

It was getting late, and we had early dinner reservations, so we figured we should go back to the Wilderness Lodge and get back to Pop. Of course, once we got to the Wilderness Lodge, we didn't leave right away because it's just so beautiful and calm and relaxing in there. I could spend a whole day in that lobby, curled up with a book near the fireplace.

As much as we wanted to stay, we finally left and drove back to Pop. Brandon took a shower and I attempted to take a quick nap before we were back out the door, on our way to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants! :thumbsup

Up next...dinner and magic hours!

Following along! :) Yay for getting a picture with Pluto! I love the little ducklings, too. Also just wondering, what app you use for the character meet times and stuff? Thanks!

We visited WL this past trip and we fell in love so hard we even inquired about switching resorts mid-stay. DH brought me back down to earth and we vowed to go there some day. I love it. I could sit in front of the fire place the whole trip and be happy. I also enjoy the boat ride to/from! How wonderful would life be if we could just hop on a boat to MK whenever we wanted!:wizard:

Sad that Splash was down :(
I love the picture with you and Pluto!:)

I know, I feel like it's always down when I'm there lately!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Glad you got to meet Pluto!!

Boo to splash being down.

I hope the little cute ducklings weren't really hurt!!!!

Me too, it was so worth the wait!

It's always down, I don't know what's going on! I must be bad luck! :rotfl:

I hope not! I decided to believe they were fine! :thumbsup2

See, I'm glad others like that angle of the Train Station (first photo). I always take a picture from there since everyone else is standing in the center. So pretty.

Disney ducks. Those mama ducks sure do love their kids. And how cute that Brandon was so concerned.

One regret I have is not visiting WL this trip, but I felt the need to focus on resorts I hadn't seen. Still makes me sad though.

I love the Train Station, and it just looked so pretty that day! I noticed you had almost the exact same picture in your TR, I love it! :thumbsup2

Aww, Disney ducks are the best! :cool1:

I'd like to be at the parade someday, it seems like it would be fun watching it get filmed, but at the same time, I'd freak out in those crowds!

It is, I have the worst luck with Splash!

I really have to start visiting the resorts I haven't seen...but then again, maybe I should just wait until I stay in them? I can't not visit WL though, it's my home! :lovestruc

I hope they were ok! Brandon was very upset about those ducks, but I think they were fine! :thumbsup2

I don't know, it is sad!!! It's my Splash bad luck I guess, I bring it to MK with me!

I loved meeting Pluto, it's been a while since I've met just him so it was really fun!

ME TOO!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Disney ducklings are even cuter than regular non-Disney ducklings lol. We saw some a few years ago right in the middle of Tomorrowland. They were eating popcorn that dropped on the ground near the popcorn cart. They were a little bigger than the ones you saw, I think.

Aww, I love Disney ducklings! Have you seen the little ramps they have in the water in Epcot for them, because they are too small to jump out? I love that Disney is so accommodating to baby ducks! :yay:

OK the pic of you at the WL is ADORABLE!! As are all of the pics you took with Pluto AND the one at the train station! I think you look great! :thumbsup2 I actually really like that Pluto shirt, a lot!

Thanks! Eh they're ok...I just better be much smaller on my next Disney trip. I'm so tired of hating every picture taken of me!

Haha, yeah it would be nice if he told me he was going to take a detour into the bathroom so I wasn't sitting there like an idiot! Then again, no one really noticed or cared so I guess it didn't matter. It was just annoying! :rotfl2:

I love AKL almost as much as WL, I could sit around there all day too, I love it! I love the campfire smell there. I really want to stay there on my next trip, it's so pretty!

I thought that thing was a capybara too, but I couldn't remember what the actual sign said it was! I had no idea there was an animal called a Mara...learn something new every day! :cool1:

So glad you had a great character meet with Pluto! Too bad Splash was down, though. That is a really nice picture when you first got to the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks! It was fun meeting Pluto, he's adorable!

Splash is always down when I'm there!!! :sad1:

Thank you! :goodvibes

Great update! :)

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

That cake pop looks yummy! I had one when I went last March and was surprised to find that the ears were marshmellow.

Thank you, I actually can't believe how nice it turned out! :thumbsup2 Once in a while I'll get these great pictures on my phone that just shock me...most of the time though, they're awful! :rotfl:

Pluto was adorable! It's fine if you're that excited over seeing him in other people's TR's, he's your favorite after all! I don't think I'd be able to meet him in MK if it was the summer, but it wasn't that bad that day...humid but the temp wasn't that high so I was ok standing there. :thumbsup2

Yeah, it was a very busy time to go! I'm so done with crowds!

I know, the first time I had a Disney cake pop I was surprised too! But they're so good, I like that the marshmallow is covered in white chocolate!

Love the picture when you first arrived at the MK...beautiful.

I love the photos with Pluto...very cute.

Sorry you missed Splash Mountain again. We never even went near it on this trip (although we were only at the MK for party night anyway).

Can't wait to hear where dinner is.

Thank you!

And thank you again! Pluto is adorable! :goodvibes

Yeah I always miss Splash. :confused3 The next time I go to MK for rope drop, I'm heading straight to Splash!

I'm curious about dinner, too!

Yay for meeting Pluto! Mission accomplished!

I also love the picture of the entrance of MK all decked out in its Christmas finery!

Well it's somewhere that we always go, so it's not exactly going to shock you! :rotfl2:

Yay! I'm so glad we waited for him, I figured Brandon would just want to leave but we got in some decent MK time while we waited! :cool1:

Isn't it beautiful? I love MK all decorated for Christmas! :yay:

Aw, I've never seen the kangaroo/dog animal. He's so cute and so are the Disney ducklings

I was very sad when you said there were no goat cheese eggs. Those are the best! Very happy to hear they have them on different days. Although it stinks if you end up there on regular egg days.

Your picture with Pluto looks nice and the picture with you and Brandon came out very good.

Neither have I, because usually I speed through there. He was really cute!

It's weird, because people that were there around the same time as me said they had the goat cheese eggs when they ate there, so I guess I was just there on an off day. Figures. :confused3

Yeah I love Roaring Forks for breakfast, those hash browns are the best. I don't know why the rest of Disney doesn't make them like that!

Since it doesn't look like I'll be going to Disney for a while, I'm definitely doing some kind of split stay the next time I go back. AKL and WL, or WL and the Grand if I can actually rent points there...it depends. :confused3 I actually don't even care too much about a savanna view, I liked the pool view, but it would be nice to see giraffes right outside your room. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Ugh, I hate when an attraction you've been waiting forever to ride is down. It can make you so disappointed, because you'd gotten your hopes up and were excited to experience the thrills again. Hopefully you got to go on it later on in the trip. :thumbsup2

It's just so weird because it was fine...and then we arrived and all the sudden, oh, Splash is down, sorry! :rotfl2: Me and my bad luck!

It was, I loved meeting Pluto! I love when the characters are extra cute when you meet them, it makes me feel better about meeting with no child! Sometimes I feel strange being the only adults in line for characters! :rotfl2: I was so happy Old Navy made a Pluto shirt, he is often neglected for Mickey and Minnie! :rotfl2:

Cute little ducklings.
Maybe a gator dragged them under???
The Pluto interaction sounds like fun.
Great updates and pics.

OH NO I hope not!!!! :sad1:

It was fun, I loved Pluto!

Thank you!

YES that pretty much how my dreams go too! Someday it will be reality! :cool1:

Thank you, I really do love that picture!

It was a good plan, but too bad it ended up not working out! Oh well, I'm happy we got to meet Pluto, that was more important than riding Splash anyway! :cool1:

They were so tiny and cute! I love ducklings!!! I hope he was wrong too!

Following along! :) Yay for getting a picture with Pluto! I love the little ducklings, too. Also just wondering, what app you use for the character meet times and stuff? Thanks!

Yay, welcome! :cool1:

I think I was using the new Disney app, My Disney Experience? But I'm pretty sure there are a few other ones out there, I just can't remember what they are right now! The new Disney app has everything though! :thumbsup2 The only annoying thing is, good luck getting it to work when you want it to! I kept having problems with it on my Iphone, so I would use Brandon's, which worked fine, he has a Samsung Galaxy. I don't know why my app was being temperamental and his was fine!:rotfl2:

We visited WL this past trip and we fell in love so hard we even inquired about switching resorts mid-stay. DH brought me back down to earth and we vowed to go there some day. I love it. I could sit in front of the fire place the whole trip and be happy. I also enjoy the boat ride to/from! How wonderful would life be if we could just hop on a boat to MK whenever we wanted!:wizard:

Oh wow, yeah WL has that effect on people, it's just so beautiful isn't it? :cool1: Yes, me too, I love the fire place! :dance3: And the boat ride to MK is awesome, I love not having to drive there and deal with parking! It's such a perfect resort! :cool1:
