My vacation is 12 days away...will someone tell me to stop looking at the weather

You can count on having a brief shower at least one day. Even though the weather channel provides 10-day forecasts, it's nearly impossible to accurately forecast more than a couple of days out. Stop looking at the weather! ;)

One thing to add...make sure in the rainy weather you take your cameras out of their bags at night. My wonderful camera doesn't work now due to the FL weather. Each year I had trouble with it and last June it stopped working properly :(
Great idea! I also learned from another thread to scotchguard your camera bag (if it is made of canvass). This will help protect the camera until you can get it properly covered, like with a poncho. Worked for me! :flower:

Oh, and by the way, I, too, constantly watched the weather. I was so sad to see "rain" everyday I was scheduled to be there. But, like most of everyone said, it was just a little shower and the rest of the day was gorgeous! :flower:

It poured yesterday morning, late last night, and this morning. Now the sun is out and my neighbor is mowing his grass. The street and side walks are already dry, and it's hot!

I leave on the 10th and I hope it doesn't rain but if it does that's ok. I'll just bring my poncho with me. :umbrella:

Let me tell you a little story...

We haven't been to FL for 2 years. Last time we were there it rained NON freaking STOP for seven days. I am not kidding. There was flooding everywhere. We trudged through the parks anyway for the entire time. We wore holes in our ponchos. It was unbelievable.

Since then my standards for "bad weather" have changed significantly!

That said, I had so many native Floridians tell us at that time they have never seen rain like that before.

I am convinced it happened because we were there. Of course, that is no comfort to you since this year we will be there the same time you are :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, I don't feel so bad now. We arrive on the 8th and, I too, am doing the weather check thing  .

Like the pervious poster when we were there in June of 2003 it rained almost everyday for long periods of time. Not the usual, but we rearranged to see parades and it all turned out great. We had a wonderful time and it was so much cooler. We ate at Casey's in the pouring rain...the umbrellas at the tables were so loaded with water they were leaking. DD and I still laugh about it. My mom would have never been able to take the heat otherwise so in a way it was a blessing.

Yep, looking at the weather is a complete waste of time. The weather man was wrong even when we were in Orlando. I believe that when it rains in the spring and summer it is usually scattered and not a total rain out. One of our best days at WDW was wearing our ponchos at WDW at night.

I confirmed it with our pilots, you are crazy to keep checking the weather that far out. It is a guess. They update the weather every 12 hours.

Relax. You can not change the weather. Your plans are made, deposits paid. You are still going no mater what.

my mother always checks the weather. last year we didnt look at the weather expect for the days we were flying in and out. i believe that since we werent looking at the weather it didnt rain but one day.

I looked at the weather for the first time this morning. We will be there 6/6-11. Thunderstorms every day too. :( I figure that if we can have fun at BG thru a thunderstorm & pouring rain for a few hours with two kids in strollers, we can enjoy ourselves in WDW. :)

We live about 40 minutes from WDW, Normally from June on we are in the "rainy" season, and the weather channel always shows thunderstorms in the afternoon, every afternoon.

Dont let that scare you though, because even if it rains, its usually a brief shower and then the sun comes out and dries everything up. Only two times has the rain affected us at WDW. Once on Test Track, they held us up because of rain, but as soon as it stopped we were off again, and once at Fantasmic, they almost cancelled the show, but the rain stopped and the show went on.

It has been pretty hot here already, so the showers are a welcome change, and it really cools everything off.

So that being said, stop looking at the weather, and enjoy your trip.

LOL I looked at the weather for days before we went and I looked at all the little weather.com pictures of thunder clouds, lightening bolts, and rain. I was worried our trip, especially our Wishes Cruise, would be spoiled by storms. It only rained one day and we got soaked to the bone at AK. Even though clouds menaced and the reports were for storms when the evening of our Wishes Cruise, we had a beautiful night. I guess I'm trying to say, don't worry too much about it because it seems like you just can't tell for sure what the weather will be. Sending you some good vibes :goodvibes and sunshine :sunny:

Listen, my DH and I were there two years ago July. It was hot, it was humid, it was downright miserable....EXCEPT when it rained. The rain rain rain would come down down down and the crowds would LEAVE! Everyone would leave, it would cool down and we had an absolute blast. We rode Splash Mountain 5 times without having to get off, even when we did it was by choice not because we had to. We had the best time in the rain...as my motto says: You're in Disneyworld, so it's raining? Would you rather be at work?
