I haven't signed in yet since they added that feature. Everyone should go to the Expo. But then it would be very crowded.

I know that when I went to DC in 2011, I was reading your TR, but didn't know you well enough to say, "Let's have a DISmeet!" I did the same thing with PIO in 2010. I now know that if we seem to get along on here, just bite the bullet and have a DISmeet. I haven't met one person in 3D that I've met on the DISboards who wasn't fun to hang out with. Lesson learned.

I'm following along too. I've only been to one D23 event so far, the Destination D - Walt Disney World 40th anniversary event in 2011, and it was absolutely fantastic!

I'm almost glad I can't go to these expos because I'm afraid I'd go broke there! I've been reading about what will be at the expo, and I think the Richard Sherman / Alan Menken concert is what I would want to see the most. The Broadway concert would be a close second. I'm curious as to how much Imagineering exhibits will be on Sunday. From the schedule, it looks like it's WDI all day!

First ever D23 in Japan. If I'd known this when I bought my long haul flight in January, I would have routed the home trip via Japan....

.....but then I think DH would have divorced me if I extended the trip even more than it currently is!

Oh Japan! I have always wanted to go and I can see how that would work for you. Shame never mind next time for you! Better not have a divorce on your hands lol. As I was ill for 4 months after eating Japanese food and was lectured by my consultant for 'being so stupid with my condition' think I will give that one a skip lol.. She would freak. The only Japan I am allowed is EPCOT lol..

They have done D23 events all over the country, the Expos have been at the Anaheim Convention Center (mainly because I don't think they could get all that star power to go much farther out of LA), but as PIO pointed out there will be one in Japan.

Also do you stay near the EXPO or travel from home? Not sure how close you are to DL? Do you have DVC points at the Villas at Grand Cali Hotel?

The first Expo we came home every night. We are less than 30 minutes away from Disneyland. That was a mistake to drive there and back. We were so tired and then to have to fix dinner, feed the cats and all that stuff, it was crazy. Also we couldn't stay for the stuff at night, we just got too tired.

We do own at the VGC, and we actually have more points there an any other DVC resort, and it's the closest! However, if you have been to DL (and I know this sounds crazy), the VGC is too far for my liking from the Anaheim Convention Center. The Hilton is literally steps from the Convention Center entrance and so much more convenient for dropping packages in the room and going back to make some lunch.

That makes sense I would want to be nearer the convention centre also! Like you say how great to drop pretty packages scored from the Expo back and make lunch. Will check out that hotel!
