UGHHHH! Is ALL i have to say about this trip! We decided to go the night before, and didnt think it would be too busy, i was wrong.
Here Are The Step-By-Step Disasters
1. We went to DCA first, we figuered it wouldnt be to busy, because it was DCA. We went on Monsters Inc. First. I had never been on it before, so i was excited. The little screens broke down about 2 seconds into the ride. That wasnt a very big disaster, but it did kill the excitement of never being on it before.
2.Than we headed straight to TSM. i waited an hour because it kept breaking down. That sucked. Right before i got on, the CMs opened up the bottom of hour car, where all the electrical wires are stored. Than he quickley shut it and i heard the woman CM whisper, "Unless the guests complain about it, just keep loading them on,". I was suspicious but got on anyway. Well, it turns out, our guns didnt work, at all. After we got off we had to wait twenty minutes until they let us on. THe worst part was, that they put people right on the broken car we were in, without even fixing it. That slowed us down about 2 hours.
3.We than got stuck on the sun wheel for 45 minutes. With no explanation. It kinda sucks having the ride stop while at the freezing top for ever!
4. Than we went on Screamin got lunch and went over to DL. Bad Idea.
5. There must have been 600,000 people there that day. We did NOT want to even attempt to walk down main street, so we RAN to the train, and we slowed down as we saw it wasnt very full, we get to the gate and start thanking the conductor for waiting for us and right before we walked through, he shut it on us. With nearly HALF the train EMPTY. His name was TJ. And he told us the New Orleans Square station was closed. So we began our twenty minute walk down Main St.
6.We went over to BTMR to find out that Splash and Space were both temporairoly closed, making the paths unwalkable. The line For BTMR was literally an hour long. But, we waited in it.
6. After that we headed over to HMH. The wait was two hours and twenty minutes. We just passed that right up.
7. The only place to find refuge was Pirates Island. Which we waited in a half our line for. Once on, i got stuck in one of the claustrophibic 1 ft by 1 ft cave, mind you im not big, and i hit my head and started bleeding. My water bottles both broke open, soiling my water, making me buy the overpriced 4 dollar water. My pants were brown when i left the "island".
8. By then splash and space were reopened, so it was a little better. We went in a 30 minute line for POTC. You know its a busy day in DL when you have to wait that long for Pirates.
9. Than we got in line for Indy, which was 55 minutes, reasonable for the parks business. About halfway through the outside line, these girls dressed up in inapropriate minnie mouse costumes let 10 of her friends cut her. I was so pissed. I screamed REALLY! right in her face. But i did get on the ride before her. :cool1: . What was weird about the ride was that right before the boulder drop, the whole rooms decor was gone, it was just a blank white room, wierd! popcorn::
10. After this we went on the juingle cruise, matterhorn, casey jr., and left.

Another crazy thing was HOW MANY things were closed. The pirate boat, part of the train, the plaza pavillion, Fantasmic, Not to mention Splash Space Indy and The Matterhorn were all temporaroly closed, and all the old McDonalds stands were under countruction, as well as Its A Small world. In DCA a lot of rides were closed because of the wind.

What was the worst about this trip was how MEAN all the CMS were to me! One did comment on how she liked my McCain sticker, though, :lmao: .

URK! It was a disaster, but its funny to look back at. I guess i wont go on columbus day weekend anymore. :headache:

Oh believe me, I KNOW what you mean. We got to DLR on Friday and it was pretty fine. Saturday was a little busier, but Sunday .. bleh. It was a nightmare at DL. It took us like 35 minutes to walk from New Orleans Square to ToonTown. I couldn't believe I was standing in place so many times because there were people in front of me. It was RIDICULOUS. I will try to go during October again for MTOTP. I'll just try to avoid going during busy times (gay days, Columbus Day, and Halloween).

Oh my gosh! We have seen TJ the train conductor twice and he is a meany. He has never been in a good mood, and totally makes people wait when there is clearly enough room to board. A little boy was trying to ask him questions and he was just giving short answers and not taking interest in the boy at all. It was sad:sad2:

Sorry your trip was so packed.

I'm sorry you had such a bad time. But if it makes you feel any better, the screens on the Monsters Inc ride always go out there. They're supposed to do that.

That is what I was thinking. One time my friend (who went to DLR without me) was saying that her screens went out on that ride, and I went on it myself last weekend and realized that is part of the ride. It sure has people convinced, though!

Toy Story broke down when I was in line for it but it was two of the game screens that had malfunctioned. They fixed it pretty quickly. It took maybe 25 minutes. And the HMH line when I was there was worse than I had ever seen it but it clocked in at about 50 minutes total. I wouldn't have waited in a line that was over 2 hours either - and I can't believe it was that long just a week later! The FP return time was 2 hours away, however!

YUP, we went to DCA/DL on Sunday as well. We live 20 minutes away so we go allot so when we get there and it is crazy like this we just walk around and look at everything. At DCA we only did Soarin'. That was a 40 min wait. We shopped in all the stores...walked allot...took pictures and ate lunch at Taste Pilot!!!

Over to DL to attempt HM but as soon as we got to Main Str. (2pm) we knew this would NOT be the day to hit HM. We basically did nothing at DL but walk around. We sat on the front porch of one of those houses on Main Street and watched all the people pour in and out of DL.

We took the Monorail over to DTD and that was not as bad as DCA or DL. We shopped for pins and DS got pizza at Napoli's and then we left.

We managed to be there from 10am-3pm despite not doing much at all but I just love DISNEY and so that is ok with me.

We did wonder why the crowds were HUGE...and we figured it was the holiday.

Thats so funny! I knew somebody in the boards would have heard of him! He is a meanie!!!! And the look he gave me! UGH! I wanted to jump over the gates and push him under the tracks! ( I was Mad). The trip was still fun, i guess. We brought a tub of nutella and peanut butter and ate it of off plastic spoons the whole time we were in line. We were getting eyed, but it was funny!

Nutella is the best!!!! Although I don't think I could eat it in line in the hot california heat! I would require a glass of milk with that delcious snack.

mmmmmmmmmmmm nutella.
You need some bread to go with that though and a LARGE glass of milk

Mmm, I love Nutella... With soft white bread.. Yum.

I must be used to the crowds because I didn't think it was too bad. We usually go on weekends and I thought Saturday was worse than Sunday. It was pretty busy but we got on a lot of rides. The only ride we didn't go on that day because it was down was the Matterhorn.
