My thoughts on Ft Wilderness...PICS ADDED!

The boats to the Magic Kingdom start running 30 minutes before park opening. We tried that our first MK morning and we missed the morning show. The next MK morning we too the boat to Contempoary and then took the monorail. We left our campsite at 7:15 for a 9:00 opening. We still missed the morning show after getting stuck on the monorail for 30 minutes. Lol!

During times of high attendance, sometimes WDW opens the MK 10-15 minutes early so the pre-opening show starts that much sooner. Assuming the boat transportation does not adjust as well, you can ride the first big Fort boat and still miss the show. So I can see how this can happen. One time we boated to the Contemporary and then just walked to the MK gate early in the morning so we could be at the FRONT of rope drop and they started the show early. It didn't affect us but if it happened once, it probably happens again.

Great TR and pics. That little fella on RRC's face is priceless.

Very nice pics of the whole bunch! Glad you had a great stay!

We got home Monday from a fabulous 8 night stay at Ft Wilderness. This was our first stay there, but won't be our last! The campground was even more spectacular than we imagined! We stayed in a rented TT (Greenberg was awesome!) in the 1400 loup. We loved being close to the campfire singalong and the pool. Our kids had a blast riding bikes and scooters all over the campground. We went to the campfire 3 nights and enjoyed it each time. Our last night, the kids even stayed for the movie. We never made it down to the beach for fireworks, so it's on our list of things to do next time. Our only thing we will do different next time is we will definitely rent a golf cart! Waiting on busses was a drag. Lol! Also, if you want to see the morning show at Magic Kingdom, take a resort boat to Contemporary Resort and WALK to Magic Kingdom from there. Don't mess with the Monorail. We figured that out on our 3 day of Magic Kingdom. Lol!

This forum was so helpful planning our first trip to the Fort! Thank you so much for all your help!!!

Thank you for the information!!! It will be our first trip to Disney World in July and we too are staying at Fort Wilderness and renting from Greenberg! And what's more, we are celebrating my 40th and our 20th as well!!!! :) what a coincidence! We are also celebrating my Mom's 60th!
I am a bit worried about the transportation as well so thank you for the advice. I have heard many people have missed the opening show because of transportation so I really do want to have a plan beforehand! I am also worried about the heat as we are from way up north!! (Alberta, Canada) and in most places it snowed 2ft yesterday!! I think it may be a bit warm (HOT) for us!! Any advice would be welcome advice!! Thanks for posting your pics! You have a beautiful family!
