Well, I've been thinking about a trip this year (due in part to a big tax refund :) ) and here's what I've drawn up...

Thurs., July 29: Fly into Harrisburg, PA. Do DelGrosso's Amusement Park (Tipton, PA) and Lakemont Park (Altoona, PA)

Friday, July 30: Six Flags Darien Lake (Darien Center, NY) and Seabreeze (Rochester, NY)

Sat., July 31: Waldameer (Erie, PA) and Conneaut Lake Park (Conneaut, PA)

Sun., August 1: Kennywood (Pittsburgh, PA)

Mon., August 2: Knoebel's (Elysburg, PA)

Tues., August 3: Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ)

Wed., August 4 - Fri., August 6

I'm not sure about these dates yet, but here are the candidates:

One day: Rye Playland (Rye, NY), Lake Compounce (Bristol, CT), Adventureland (Farmington, NY) if I have time

Another day: Six Flags New England (Agawam, MA)

3rd day: Hersheypark (Hershey, PA)

or:

Wed.: Six Flags New England

Thurs.: The Great Escape (Lake George, NY)

Fri.: Lake Compounce, Rye Playland, Adventureland if I have time

Sat., August 7: Dutch Wonderland (Lancaster, PA) and non-coaster stuff (gasp!) around Lancaster

Sun., August 8: Hersheypark or another park

Mon., August 9: Fly home

I think my 200th coaster will be Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park or a coaster at Kennywood (probably Phantom's Revenge). I would like to ride Superman: Ride of Steel at SFNE and the Comet at Lake George.

So who wants to meet up? :)

Very cool Barry!! :) Though there are no Ghostbusters...so I think I'll have to pass on meeting up :p :p :)

Barry,
Dollywood has a new rollercoaster called Thunderhead. And you still haven't been on Tennessee Tornado either. Well, maybe next year will include these.

If you haven't already ridden it I would pick the Thunderbolt at Kennywood for your 200th. It is a great wooden coaster and IMHO the best ride at Kennywood. But I haven't been there since 1997. Can't remember what the steel coaster was called but that was a horrible ride, it jerked you all over the place, and I had to take my earrings out before I could ride it. Your trip sounds like a great adventure, have fun.

ETA I just looked it up and it was the Steel Phantom which has been replaced with the Phantom's Revenge, which looks like a smoother ride, (no head restraints). But you probably knew that.

So Barry will be in my neck of the woods this summer? Hmm... sounds interesting!

Hey Barry - Let me know if you do Great Escape....I have a season pass, so I would be sure to meet you there!

you should try and make the drive up to Canada. Paramount Canda's Wonderland is opening a new coaster this year. Lara Crofts Tombraider it is a "flying coaster"

These are in my area! I practically grew up at Seabreeze! (The Jack Rabbit was my first coaster.)

I'm so jealous! I love roller coasters, and I never get to any amusement parks!!

Has anyone been to Cedar Point? I went...2 summers ago, and it was the best. Going back this summer, or next summer...can't wait!!!!Really wanna go on the dragster...400 ft drop is..well..my idea of fun!! Oh yeah, and SFNE is great!!

Have fun...!!

:wave2: I just wanted to say HI Barry and tell you how much I enjoyed the meet in Arlington .

If anyone has the chance to meet Barry ...Do it ..... and watch out for that video camera.

Wishing you a Tagged night

I did consider doing a multi-city flight, but it turns out to be too expensive.

I was going to say, you should really try Cedar Point in Ohio if you love rollercoasters (as I do!) Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster are more than worth the price of admission, plus they have many other amazing coasters as well. Best in the world, it is.

I just visisted Paramount's King's Dominion in Richmond, VA last Saturday. Volcano the Blast Coaster? ROCKED. I rode it four times, each time in the front and I was positively giddy each time I rode it. My husband and I were kind of scared of Hypersonic XLC (0-80 in 1.8 seconds) but it was so worth it. It has been a really long time since I have been scared of a coaster, and now I have to conquer Top Thrill Dragster at the Point. 420 feet high...0-120 in four seconds, WOW. I can't wait!

You'll love the Phoenix at Knoebel's.

There's a new coaster opening this year at Hershey. It's an inverted boost type (like RnRC and The Hulk).

any chance you'll be in DFW and Six Flags? You may need to ride Superman and Titan:):)

You'll love the Phoenix at Knoebel's.

Was that one of the two wooden coasters there? I was there last year, and I remember going on two awesome wooden coasters. One was Twister, and I can't remember the other name but I think that may be the one you're talking about.

Tues., August 3: Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ)....

I would like to ride Superman: Ride of Steel at SFNE

They also have Superman: Ultiamte Flight at Great Adventure. I haven't been on it yet (it opened last year), but it's supposed to be a "flying" coaster.

I was there last month!

hhmmm.....when the time gets closer, DSs and I may meet up with you at Knobels for a quick ride on the Pheonix. We are about 45 minutes from there. We will have to see what happens as summer nears.

You up for a meet up? I won't commit to anything this early, but I actually just went to Great Adventure yesterday and bought my season pass :) I plan on taking full advantage of that all summer.

Kicked off my season with a ride on Superman. We've got alot of Bolliger and Mabillard babies, if you're into that (I'm a bit attatched to them, lol).

Barry, you seem to have left out Dorney Park, Allentown, PA! Being that you will be in the general vicinity, Hershey is not that far from Allentown!
