Have a great time - sounds like an adventure :goodvibes!

We did a low budget trip last June when we were using the Sky free tickets. Four of us stayed in the Serris apts as it was so inexpensive(£232 for 5 nights for all of us).

I kept worrying that we would turn up to a rat infested hell hole or something dingy. Completely wrong! We had a nice light and very clean apartment. Bathroom was spotless as were the towels and the slippers were a nice touch. Tons of storage space and free internet connection. We were at the back and it was very quiet at night.

It can be a little hard to find though. When you exit the train station, turn right and then turn left in front of the entrance to the shopping centre, follow the road down past offices and apts for about three minutes and then turn right at the end of this street. You will then see a small sign for the Serris apts on your right.

You can go into the shopping centre to the large Auchan supermarket for some supplies to keep costs down. Big packs of croissants or pain au chocolat, juice and coffee make for a good cheap breakfast.

Love your buget idea, I am making my 6th trip in March to dlp taking DH for the first time I dont want things to get mega expensive or he wont let me back :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:d want him to leave thinking not bad there, leave her too it!!! FC FC hahahah I am a shareholder so that helps.

Can I ask about your rail card we are going manchester - london via train but would a rail card make the journey cheaper???

oh its a family and friends railcar you have to take children lol

I love to hear about budget trips! Our most expensive trip to DLRP was our first trip.. every time we have been since it has got cheaper. People think that going to DLRP has to be expensive but its only as cheap or as expensive as you let it be.

Wow that's fantastic - hoping I can get the other half in board for a annual pass!! He's warming to it - I hope lol

yes we are taking children one aged 4 who will be free and 1 age 10. Does the rail card save you alot

yes it does - it costs £28 to get one, valid for one year, but you can make that back on just one fare, depending on time of day/where from etc.

The Daily Mail (I think) does a half price railcard offer every July, so look out for it :).

Do a dummy pricing for your train journey with a railcard, and then with a family and friends railcard, see how much it could save you.

You sound like so much fun :cool1:

I used to love getting Eurolines or the slow train in the 80's and 90's before low costs flights and Eurostar

Paris to London via Calais or Dieppe/Newhaven with the night ferry and then Kings Cross to Northallerton

Took forever but it's a lot of great memories that I'll always have :goodvibes

Ooh, Northallerton is our local station! :goodvibes

But just think - for a few pounds more you could have two weeks in Florida...
