My stimulus check is lost in the mail

This is such a mess. My first payment was delivered without issue. I have no idea where my second check is!

Our oldest (who lives with us) received hers via direct deposit.

We finally received the second half of our payment yesterday. For some reason, half was direct deposited and half was mailed, as a check. We have filed married filing joint for over 20 years. The stimulus payment this spring, was direct deposited as one payment.

We finally received the second half of our payment yesterday. For some reason, half was direct deposited and half was mailed, as a check. We have filed married filing joint for over 20 years. The stimulus payment this spring, was direct deposited as one payment.

Our friends had the same thing happen, but are still waiting on the second half. Theirs was exactly half amounts-- 2 adults and one child so each received the amount for 1 adult and half a child.

This whole thing seems more complicated than it needed to be.

Mine also said it was mailed 1/6 despite my tax refund and my first check being direct deposited. Was getting nervous as I had not received it. Turns out mine was direct deposited but to a different account than what my taxes go to and not the account the IRS had listed when I checked the status. So if you have more than one account, check them all!

Got mine today. In mail this time and no child credit. Will she get one Herself she turned 18 durring the year.

If she was listed as a dependent on your taxes no she will not get one. The child credit stops at age 16 anyways. If you got the first stimulus check with the child credit it was likely because she was 16 when your 2019 taxes were filed which is what the stimulus payments were based off of.
