My son has detention tomorrow

when i was in the ninth grade i got 8 hours of detention for disrupting class.

i was sitting in my chair reading a book. i guess i just breathe too loud! lol:confused3

I was expecting a long post about your perfect snowflake :lmao:

Thank you for not trying to figure out who to blame your angel's detention on :rotfl:

I'm with you. My DD just served detention on Tuesday.

She said it was actually pretty cool because she got all her homework done in an hour and it takes her much longer at home because she gets distracted.
Ya think? :rotfl:

She said the room was packed, and the teacher had to keep telling kids that they weren't supposed to be having fun. :confused3

I only had detention like twice in my life but I LOVED it. Seriously. I got all my work done, it was quiet, and I wasn't distracted. Detention is beautiful. :thumbsup2

My son was threatened with detention this week for forgetting a pencil.... I said "Well, guess you better not forget your pencil" so far no detention... we'll see how it goes from here!

I took a picture at Disneyland this month that reminds me of your DIS child:

No detention here yet, but just wanted to share that I got detention twice in my whole life. One for not covering a textbook, and one for forgetting choir lyrics the one day per week we had choir. How lame is that? LOL!

But my dh actually got suspended for forging a hall pass. We gloss over that when we talk to the children.

I probably gave your son that detention as I gave one out this week! :duck:

I always look really hard for that one perfect child who has done nothing wrong.............:rotfl:

All yours got was detention??? Mine got a speeding ticket for 85 in a 55 at 1 AM!!! Just so ya know, curfew is at midnight in GA and her BFF's mom told them it was ok to be out (she was spending the night at their house)!! :scared1: I should have sent her with them when she had to go to court!! :confused3 It's not the best call when you here on the other end of the phone "Um, Mrs. XXX, I'm officer YYY with the GA State Patrol. I have your daughter here" at that time of morning. Can we say Mama was not happy!!!

Oh please....ONE detention??? Your son is an amateur, sorry. Mine is a young professional detentionite. After 3 detentions in the first 2 weeks of school, I lost my mind. I stopped picking him up. 4 miles is a long walk home from school, but he did it and will continue to do so. Gonna get cold soon. He will learn how to zip his lips fast.

And it's funny when he tries to "explain away" whatever happens. He's in the unfortunate position of being my second child. My first child is also not perfect, but has never served a detention once, in his 12 years of school. So I can literally say to him "look, your screwup brother never had a detention, so neither should you." (Don't call CPS, folks, I choose my words less abusively IRL ).

Thought I'd share my story. Sometimes when you think you have a lousy kid, it always helps to hear of someone who has an even lousier kid! Been there. No snowflakes in my house.
