I got up to 25lbs last year when I was working out religiously but I do it all at home and so I can take my time and really concentrate on quality without dropping them on my feet. But I like doing a lot of lower weights too, and resistance bands are great. I only used 25 to build up my arms a bit but with the aerobic movement I always use no more than 8-10lbs.
