My Sister is NUTS!!!!

I am doing all of the planning for our trip in may getting all of the discounts and everything with our AP's and every available resource. Well we were discussing budgets and I told theirs W/O food and souv. would be around $1688

So she says to me..... "so if I take 2000 that will be enough" I about passed out!!!!! We are talking 2 adults 2 kids and 2 infants for 8 days!!!

We go all the time and we have explained to her how much foo dis even when you do it cheap!!!! I know shes dense but please!! How do I get her to understand this???

Have you shown her any of the menus available online, like from Deb Wills' site?
When we go, we have my parents, two adult brothers, and two brothers-in-law along, as well as my own family of four.
I make all the plans, PS, etc.
Then I give them a rundown of approximate cost of PS. If we have counter service written in, I give them an approximate meal price for that as well. Many of the places portions are huge, so I will make a note if it is easily shared by two adults.
This really seems to help, that way they can't be surprised by cost.
I put everything onto an excel spreadsheet and every person gets a copy. The spreadsheet totals up approximate cost for me.

Hope this helps. I know it can be frustrating when people don't get it.

do you think she miss understood when you said without food? maybe you should show your sister a plan with meals included so she can see how much it would cost or suggest she bring a credit card because she'll need it. A ice cream alone is $2.50 refillable mugs $11.99 even a coke or water in a machine is at least $2.00 good luck i hope this isn't a sign of whats to come of this vacation together.

I take it you're laughing at her thinking that $312 is enough for food and souvenirs.

I would think even on the cheap side she would need more like $600 (and that wouldn't include many or any fancy sit downs or character meals)

But it could be done with a little planning or starving or eating PB&J every other day.
