My SIL is pregnant - again.

Thank you so much. I shed a couple of tears this morning, but I feel much better.

I know it still might be hard watching her go through the pregnancy. If she complains about being pregnant though I might just have to kick her in the rear! LOL!

Thank you for this post Tykes. I remember too well watching my sister pop out 4 kids so easily, the last 3 at home on her couch. And then expecting everyone else to take care of them. And I had sooo much trouble carrying one. I made it to 7 months and they told me to just let her die, because she was so severly mongoloid or chromosomal, she might not even survive. (This after losing one the year before.) Well, my perfect little angel is giving me so much grief over homework this week, sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have her. She's loving, beautiful and smart. Straight A's smart. (Thankfully I told the doctors to stuff it, I wanted whatever God would give me and to save her no matter what! And they found out they were wrong!) You'll be in my prayers that God will grant you a beautiful child when the time is right! And remember that the feelings of jealousy you are experiencing now are just indicating what a good mom you will be when your turn finally comes! And your child will always know how special he or she is to you, because they will be able to feel it!

I don't have much more to add than the previous posters ... I can say you are not horrible! It is funny this post happened this week. DH and I are dealing with similar issue this week!!! We have been trying since 1995 and we have relative who is in college and just announced she is pg with TRIPLETS!!!!! She is in law school and obviously this is a "mistake" in her eyes!!!! Sooo, if you are horrible...I am super horrible Hey, maybe we can start our own "horrible people club" LOL! Just kidding of course! Good Luck to you and hope this is easy painless 9 months for her (so she doesn't complain to you!)

Oh my........ I almost hate to post for all the resentment coming my way! (kidding)

My bil and sil tried literally forever to have their own children. They underwent IVF 2x and ended up finally adopting two little baby boys

I was absolutly hesitant to announce most of my pregnancies due to what they were going through. You are not a horrible person at all. Emotions are very hard to control. Try to keep your chin up. Best wishes to you in dealing with your feelings.

20 and 16 years ago when we were trying to conceive people seemed to feel the need to tell me about every 16 year old pregnant female on the planet. I resented them all. Why couldn't a stable married couple that wanted to provide/ take care of their child have one? The emotions are still very near the surface when I think about it. My sil was also having difficulty and one of the hardest things I had to do was tell her I was pregnant when she still wasn't.
Terrible? Then I am terrible too.

Hang in there Tami! Don't beat yourself up for a perfectly normal "feeling." We went through it too.....well, the 2nd time around anyway. First pregnancy was pretty quick but then it took us y e a r s to get pregnant again. So many years in fact & since I was already 42, never imagined it would happen again.....but it did! After 7 years of having my DS, I (finally) got pregnant again. Trust me, your SIL will have an easier time at 21 finding stamina to take care of little ones than I have at now 43 & running after an 18 month old!

Your SIL just sounds like she needs to grow up a little. She's probably had lots of help too so she didn't need to give it a second thought to having another child.

I hope she has a healthy baby.
