My short dining reviews with minimal pictures.

It started pouring at MK so when we got back to Pop I just went right to the food court so I could bring the food up to the kids. I figured soggy kids at the food court would be no fun. I asked what they wanted and they said "tacos" They really liked them at lunch.

Well after wandering back and forth I realized tacos are not on the dinner menu. Honestly the dinner menu was a bummer to me! I felt like lunch had much more kid appeal. I ended up getting pizza and a fish and chips. They disliked the pizza and ended up eating mostly snacks (yogurt, fruit cups) for dinner :\

DH was going to head out for a beer run ( Saints game was on and he wanted to kick back and relax in the room ) and had offered to pick up some AoA food court food to go for the three of us.
I had the pastrami cheeseburger. The burger was standard, the pastrami a little thicker and fattier than I expected. Like duh, I know pastrami is fatty but since the pieces of pastrami were thick it meant the fat was thick and, kinda gross. I know I sound complain-y , I am just trying to explain everything completely. It was still good, and I was starving. The fries were mega seasoned but still tasty.
DH had the build a burger. He had just about everything on that thing which made the standard burger quite tasty.
DD had the surf and surf. Yum! Everyone liked that one.
Desserts were two everything brownies and I had the ganache. Very tasty.
DHs favorite thing about the AoA food court? They had Odwalla drinks as an option for the DDP drinks.

We preferred it to Pop's dinner menu (very specifically dinner - we liked lunch at Pop)

I can take or leave 'Ohana, but the rest of my family loves it. Glad you enjoyed your meal though (I agree about their bread; too soft - don't care for it). As for BoG, I guess we'll try it for lunch on our upcoming trip, but I'm prepared for disappointment. Friends of ours ate there for lunch last month and said the food was a big letdown for being in such a beautiful atmosphere. Guess we'll find out for ourselves. Thanks again for your wonderful reports!

thanks again...

We are going to Ohana for the first time in 20 odd years ...I am ready for the MEAT...rofl...

When we had the milkshakes ..they were so thick I had a hard time getting them thru the straw..finally got a spoon and worked on it that way for a while..

We were there nice and early for our 8:15 ADR at TH. Donald overslept so we skipped the pic and went straight to the food (we did the pic at the end)

My daughter is obsessed with the jungle juice, I think it was the food she looked forward to most. She loved it just as much this time.
The food was good, the cheese blintzes with cherry topping and cornbread dish were my favorites again. Oh and the bread pudding was better than I expected too. It was banana bread with nuts and it was very good.

The kids liked the chocolate croissants (who doesn't? :confused3 ). Fresh fruit, eggs, standard bacon/sausage/mickey waffle kid station - definitely a great way to start the day.

Much to the dismay of my jungle juice junkie, I think we are ready to skip it next trip. We have had it our last three trips and it is always good but I need to try some more of the other good food at AK (or Boma!)

we too have done TH breakfast and before that it was Dinosaurus breakfastasaurus and six times is enough for us...the last few years we went with our son and dil and the two munchkins and they loved Norway breakfast with the princesses..

Pomme fritte is in Ct too and some of my relatives live there...

And then the best QS of the trip.. Wolfgang Puck!!

I had wanted to eat there earlier in the week and it did not work out and since the original plan was the waterpark I thought I would be eating Blizzard Beach fare - I am so happy our plans changed...

I lamented our wasted free vouchers to DQ and after talking with DH we decided to go use them and have some fun our last day before the drive home.

So back to the point, lunch was at WPE. This was one of those places not on my radar until I saw all the great pics. It did not disappoint!!

DH and DS had the meatloaf. I managed to snag a forkful but that was about it, they were both in love. It was very good and those crispy onion rings were an awesome addition.

oldest DD had the chicken pesto salad sandwhich. She loved it , especially the pocket bread.

I had the barbecue chicken pizza. Delicous. The sauce was not too strong and a little bit of cilantro on top, not too sweet, nice and cheesy and a thin crust. I would get it again!

We also got a pesto pizza for the girls to split. Yum. oldest DD ended up trading off some of her pocket for a piece, delicious.

And as great as that is, the best was yet to come. For dessert DH wanted cheesecake but I had seen enough pics to know I wanted the crème brulee. I never had crème brulee before but that wasn't going to stop me.

So we ordered two cheesecakes and two crème brulees. I tasted a little bit of the cheesecake, it was fine. The kids ate it, since DH tried the crème brulee and was totally over the cheesecake. It was so delicious. It was buttery and creamy with sweet carmel-y crunchy bits. Honestly I was surprised how much we loved it.
The kids on the other hand - they were not impressed. They said it was like pudding with glass on it lol. Ah well, more for me and DH :goodvibes

The grand finale - otherwise known as the biggest food letdown of the entire trip - Earl of Sandwich.

You get a sandwich and a dessert, no side. And the desserts are stacked haphazardly around, before and after the register - only desserts that are 2.49 and under count. The bottled drinks I brought to the register did not count, unless it was water or juice. I had to have one of the kids go put the drinks back while the others were trying to read price tags without knocking crap over. It was just delightful :headache:
The sandwiches were fine. A lot of bread. I mean don't get me wrong the bread itself was actually really good, just not a lot of filling.
And the whole meal I kept hearing "SO for lunch we had meatloaf with sauce and mashed potatoes and fried onions with a crème brulee and dinner is a sandwich and brownie? Doesn't seem right" Or... "The food courts give you chips with your sandwich, we could have just eaten at the food court"
So if it was OOP I would eat there again but on the dining plan there are WAY too many places that have better food, better choices, better staff etc. to go there.

I SOOO agree with both of those reviews! WPE is truly the best bang for a CS credit. You get so much food there, and it's all delicious. EoS on the other hand, is almost a waste of a credit. The sandwiches are just "okay" to me, and you get so little to go along with them (cheap desserts and limits on the cost of beverages; don't get me started). Thank you so much for your informative posts; you and I definitely think alike!

I would rather have eaten at WPE twice in hindsight but oh well, ya live ya learn.

Glad you liked reading along :)
