My Scrap Space!

A few weeks ago everyone was sharing their scrap space and inspired me to do the same! I got a ton of ideas on how to organize and thought maybe I could help others too.

My space is in our master bedroom. When I am not scrapping, it usually looks like this (except usually the bed skirt is all down!):

I say "usually" because well, sometimes I am so into my scrapping that putting everything away may kill my creativity. That and, well, sometimes I am just plain lazy. :upsidedow

But mid scrap....the room looks like a scrapbooking store threw up in it:

And actually, this picture isn't so bad. Usually there is alot more paper all over the floor but I was cutting on the cricut at the time I snapped this photo so I wasn't flying through lots of paper yet.

My scrap table is actually a sewing table from Walmart. I love it because it keeps me organized (for the most part):

Here's is the side on the right:

I keep my cricut cartridges in the three boxes; my paper collection is next to them. The tops shelf holds my glittering sheets, glue mats, cutters. The second shelf has folders full of scraps. That's the first place I grab from when scrapping.

Here's the left side:

This is where I keep scissors, markers, glues, ribbon spools, stamp pads, and some brads. The joanns bag is my trash/recycle bag.

I've definitely outgrown the storage provided in the table so now I store some things under the bed. Usually the bed skirt hides it all when I'm not scrapping:

The green box on the right holds my Cuttlebug folders, the pinkish box in the middle has my crazy collection of glitter and flock as well as my extra glitter glues. The clear box on the left holds more paper.

And even more in my closet:

My cuttlebug is here, and the 2 wide boxes on the bottom hold my trip memorabilia to scrap. The binder is where my stickers are stored (great idea I read about here on the boards....each page protector has a different theme). The photobox has more ribbon in it.

So there you have it...my mostly-organized scrap space. The best part about it for me is that when I'm finished scrapping and I actually do clean it all up, it takes no more than 5 minutes since everything has a home.

My husband always cracks me up when he comes up to bed and sees I am scrapping. He comments how messy it is, goes to brush his teeth and by the time he is back in our room I'm always just tucking the last few items I was using away for the night. :rotfl2:

(Also, editing for one note.....my scrap table used to be centered on that wall in between the windows. We had a double bed then. We upgraded to a king this past summer so I had to move my table to the right so I could stop bruising my leg when getting to my side. So, sorry if it drives you crazy to see everything off center...aka it drives me crazy... but I LOVE my king bed!)

looks very organized! love your table, its great you can close it up and everything is in its place!

That is a great table & I love how organized you are :)

Your space looks terrific! At first I wasn't sure why you were showing us your bedroom.... I couldn't even tell that it was your scrapping space. It is so well disguised! Mine is NEVER disguised.... but I do keep it neat.

Unfortunately, most scrappers I know aren't neat enough to be able to close up that cabinet very often!! :lmao:

Honestly.... I'm truly impressed. And I don't blame you about your King bed.... DH and I have had one since day 1 and I don't know how we would have survived without it! I need my sleeping space!...........P

I have the same table. Love the amount of space it has. I never close mine though cause i don't have to. Actually my crop bags live behind the extension part, and my stamp pad box lives on top.

I wish my was that easy to clean up. I should be working on it today. maybe I will. It's so dark out from the snow coming down I feel like it's mid afternoon instead of mid morning.

Good organizing!! A little off topic, but I love the way you organized your jewelry. I was trying to think of a way so the necklaces and earrings don't get so tangled : )

I LOVE that table. I love that it just closes up. And because when I got it, it was under a hundred bucks!

When DH travels for work, that's when I go scrapping crazy. It all stays spread out all over the table and floor- sometimes I bring in an extra table.

But then sometimes, I have a hard time sleeping if it's all out and open. Sometimes I am ridiculous about things being neat and tidy. I've calmed down a LOT since we were first married but sometimes I still act alittle nuts. I used to freak out if the closet door was ajar, or a drawer wasn't pushed in all the way. really. seriously. weird. And I knew it. I would get out of bed and close it all up tight and if I didn't, I sat up staring at it. I'd huff and puff about it.

This usually happened a certain time of the month....Poor, poor DH :scared1:

I love how I just came out with my ocd tendencies to the disboards.

I found that cork board in my college stuff in the basement and thought it was perfect for the job! When I get a new piece, I can just add a push pin and move them around and such. It also cleared out a drawer in my nightstand which was wonderful!

The best part with earrings is that you could actually push them into the cork board! I guess the backs would have to be put somewhere else though....hmmm (can you tell I don't have my ears pierced? haha)

I love that table!!! I could really use that!!!! And, you are so organized! I think I may do the binders for stickers now, too!!!! They are kept in my room, so when I do that re-vamp, I will switch to binders. Right now they are in with other embellishments by category. (Like everything I may use for my daughter is in one 12 x 12 accordian scrappy folder, then everything for the boys in another, then everything beach in another, etc.) It sounded like a great idea when I did it and seemed super organized, but it's not working for me!!

Slightly off-topic, but is that an Eagles and Phillies jersey I see hanging in that closet? If so, let me just say.........M-E-T-S Mets Mets Mets!!! And, G-I-A-N-T-S!!!!!! Go Giants!!!! LOL

LOL you literally made me crack up out loud. DH and I are big Philly fans but to be honest the only reason I have the Phils jersey is because I was in my friend's wedding last year and she got married on the pitchers mound in Citizens Bank Park...I needed the jersey for pictures after and for the rehearsal and such.

Aaaaand my eagles jersey is Westbrook's....I miss him!

You are very organized. Care to come to CT and clean out my closet?!

Your space looks great.
