My reservation issue

I booked 3 staterooms on opening day for the Destiny 1 with OBB in my name with my daughter inlaw, 1 OBB in hubbys name with son and grandson and a third room without OBB in my daughters name with other grandson. Me, hubby and other grandson are platinum. Our 120 day payment is coming up soon. Son, dtr in law and their son may be cancelling out. I’m figuring if necessary I will cancel son, d in law and grandson, cancel daughters room then add dtr into my room and grandson into DH room before the 120 days. Will this work?

I'd suggest seeing if they'll let you "change the passenger name" instead of cancelling 1 guest and adding a new guest. When that happens the fare is the prevailing rate, the opening day rate doesn't transfer to the new guest.

That's how I handled a few years back when we were going to need to cancel a stateroom on an Alaska cruise. I had spread out the castaway members over several staterooms when I did initial booking. I called DCL to change names of folks among what would be the remaining staterooms. A few days later (less than a week) I called back to cancel the unneeded stateroom. A very nice DCL phone cast member offered me this suggestion to help me keep our booking rate.
