As we were waiting to finalize our resale purchase, it was very helpful to my husband and me to see others' experiences with their resales. Below I will outline our purchase from offer to receiving the blue membership card. I know it went much more quickly than originally thought, but this is how it went for us. I hope it helps you. :goodvibes

October 12 (Sunday) - called TTS and made an offer

October 13 - TTS emailed documents to us

October 15 - we faxed the offer documents back to TTS

October 21 - the information was sent to Disney for ROFR; TTS sent us an email with update

October 23 - received documents from closing company to open escrow account

October 24 - received email from TTS about closing company's information

October 27 - we faxed escrow documents to the closing company

October 28 - received word that we passed ROFR

October 29 - received confirmation of credit card down payment

November 5 - received closing documents

November 6 - mailed closing documents back with payment

November 11 - the closing company received our closing documents

You had a very quick process compared to some. Welcome Home!

How did you find out you were in the system with Disney?

We just emailed our closing docs and sent a check via Priority Mail today.:yay:

We felt very fortunate to be so quick! It was a nice surprise for us!!

Congrats on your purchase! We found out we were in the system by calling. I just dialed the number and gave our names. They let me know whether they could find us or not. Once we were in, they gave me help with the login info for the website. They were very friendly.

Congrats! Our resale has been slower and I would say probably the difference is an international seller. Although our closing documents stated we must return ours with money within 7 days, it took our seller much longer to do so.

Congrats on your purchase too! I think our seller was anxious to sell and get their money. They were very quick to return things, so our process was luckily very quick. Of course, we started watching the resale market early as we knew we'd want to make our first reservation in February. We wanted to have plenty of time to close and/or start over if we didn't pass ROFR. Good luck with closing and enjoy your new points!

November 6 - mailed closing documents back with payment

Wow - That is incredible - only 8 days to get into the system! My payment and closing docs were received last Wednesday and with the holidays I expect to be delayed but I would be thrilled to get in the system by 1/1

Yes, we were incredibly lucky! I'm sure there might be some delays with holiday breaks, but good luck with finishing. Welcome Home!!!

:thumbsup2 boy that was fast for a resell.

you are definitely lucky!

might go buy some lottery tickets.:goodvibes

We hadn't received anything from Disney 10 days after our resale closed, but called them and got our number. We went down there last week (11 days after closing), and went to get "temporary cards" at SS - they gave us the real ones! We were thrilled to be card-carrying members!

I hope I am following on about the same timeline because I just got the e-mail that I closed! I've been given instructions to wait 7 days before calling Disney to see if I am in the system. With the Christmas holiday I'll probably wait until Monday but I am anxious to book very soon since I have points to use before Jan 31.

Good luck! Yes, they told us it could take Disney up to 7 days, but no instructions to "wait". (Or I completely blocked that out because I was so anxious :)) I called and the people we spoke with were very kind. Enjoy your first trip.

Thanks so much for posting that info. We're just at the point you were on October 15, and this gives us a good idea of what to expect.

I hope it can be helpful to someone. Several people posted their time lines while we were waiting. It was at least nice to see what steps we had coming. I liked checking off the list of the steps until closing. Good luck with your purchase. :goodvibes

WOW! Lucky you- that is quick! We just completed a resale and it was over 3.5 months from offer to points! I think 7-9 weeks is about average for anyone looking for info on the duration of the resale process.

Thanks for your timeline. We made an offer yesterday that was accepted. We faxed back our contract. I just got an e-mail stating that it was going to Disney for ROFR today. I'm nervous; I hope it passes. Everything seemed to go so quick so far. I wonder if resales are slow.

We're tracking right along with you Ella's Mom! Offer accepted yesterday, went to Disney for ROFR today. Hope we can keep up with Disney Princess' record pace!!!

Just out of curiosity, where are you buying?

Best of luck...pixiedust:
