Because I was looking for this info before but couldn't find it, I figured I'd post it here for anyone who might be looking for it sometime in the future. Here's the full timeline of my DVC Purchase:
My Sister and Brother-In-Law purchased DVC back in 2004, my initial reaction was "good for them, definitely not for me". Many, many, many, many hours of research, reading, etc and after 2 trips to Disney, my wife and I decided DVC was right for us. The saving began as did the anticipation and wait for the Contemporary DVC (BLT). As the rumors of price and point charts sky-rocketed, and while the resale market started to slide, we decided to go with a resale at SSR.
Now I only have to endure another 7-10 days of waiting for Member Services to have us and our points in the system.... that is about how long that takes? Right? I guess I'll edit this post with that info when the time comes!
If the sellers of our 240 point SSR contract (Aug UY) happen to read this, thank you for being a part of such a smooth transaction. I hope your decision to sell was not due to a negative situation. If it was, I hope you and your family find better times quickly.
