Stitch squishmollow went missing

OP, have you looked under the bed?

And, as other posters have said, it's quite improbable that this was stolen, and certainly it would never be stolen as some kind of retaliation for not tipping.
We left last Saturday and it wasn’t under the bed

I'm so sorry you haven't gotten it back. But please reassure yourself that it wasn't stolen. If there were a $100 bill taped to it, then maybe, but probably not even then, since the bill could've just been removed.

The housekeeping staff at WDW is under a lot of pressure and they work very very quickly. It most probably ended up in the laundry.

And I hope you can replace it. I realize it won't be the same, but it'll be something anyway.

It was a Christmas present

He wasn’t covered up and he didn’t get knocked off this was the first time they changed the sheets the entire time

Disney does not change the sheets every day unless you tell them to. There should be a pamphlet somewhere in your room explaining this as part of their conservation efforts.

I have had a niece who lost a stuffy when the sheets were changed. Disney did find it, so don't give up hope.

We all do two or three things at the same time. Grab sheets with hands, while looking to see how much vacuuming is needing or look to the side while answering coworker. How many times have we been looking for an item and we don't see it, even thought someone else with walk in and says it's right there? Our mind is already on the next task and not totally on the task we are doing.

I wonder if the sheets are bundled, putting in cart and stitch falls off unnoticed, another guest sees and keeps it.

To OP, how big was the toy?

It was a Christmas present
A quick Google search reveals that it could be easily replaced. Depending on the size, they range anywhere from $10 at target to about $45 through different vendors for the bigger one. I understand it was a Christmas present but it does not appear to be irreplaceable.

My sister bought me a beautiful vase for my birthday one year. The bookshelf it was sitting on was bumped by some contractors in my house and the vase tipped and shattered. While heartbroken, I was able to replace it and when I saw it sitting on my bookshelf again, the smiles returned. When I looked at the vase, I did not think of it as being a replacement, I just saw the thought and intention my sister put into buying me something she knew I would love.

Most likely, if you do the same with your stuffed animal, you will have the same result. Or you can chose to continue to be upset.

It was a squishmollo it was in the smaller end but they had seen it before

They are supposed to change them ever third day and they hadn’t been

For crying out loud…it’s a stuffed animal. Not a special stuffed animal. Just special to you. The housekeepers work so hard cleaning so many rooms that your stuffed animal wasn’t even a blip on their radar on one day, let alone so important than they would remember it from a prior day. Heck, it may not have even been the same person who was in a different day to “see” it.

Please understand that this was an accident and it is time to move on.

Edited to remove speculation that the OP might be on the spectrum based on behavior as s/he confirmed was not.

I’m sorry your toy went missing. However, you specifically asked for sheets to be changed & then left a small toy on the bed. You actually said you left 3 stuffed toys on the bed, I’m just not sure if the others were small too or bigger & easier for the housekeeper to see. Most of the responsibility is on you, IMO. Of course we expect housekeepers to be respectful of our property. But if there is something valuable, even if just to you, it is on you to make sure that is secured where it will be safe. Even if that’s just tossed in a drawer. The housekeepers shouldn’t have to move personal items off the bed to do their job. A small toy is so easy for a busy housekeeper to miss & scoop up with dirty linen. The housekeeper probably reached down, grabbed the toys but missed 1, which got covered & grabbed with the dirty linen. It never should have been left on the bed, especially knowing the housekeeper was coming to change linen. That’s really on you. I’m sure no housekeeper is going to jeopardize their job by stealing a readily available toy that costs less than $20. Next time you say in a hotel, maybe put all your irreplaceable items away before you leave the room. Lesson learned.

I remember your handle from the disABILITIES board so I wonder if perhaps you may be on the spectrum and that is why you are having trouble accepting this. But please understand that this was an accident and it is time to move on.

If you are not on the spectrum then no offense was intended.
i am not on the spectrum but this was a Christmas present and is not the same if I replace it I simply asked for any ideas to figure out what to do with Disney

All of my stuffed animals were together on my pillows it is about a readily available because stitch is popular in squishmollows and seconds of all it was a Christmas present and is irreplaceable to me and Disney is still searching for it

But why did you leave them on the bed, knowing someone was specifically coming to change the sheets????? Why make work harder for the housekeeper & make them have to mess with your stuff???

Just because they were together, doesn’t mean they saw all of them or that 1 didn’t get missed. It’s on you because you left it on the bed. Maybe Disney will find it, but probably not if they haven’t by now. As for “what to do with Disney”….Nothing. Learn your lesson & move on. Lessons like, next time you travel, leave irreplaceable items at home.

I’m not just gonna buy another one
I hope they find it for you. I've never lost anything at Disney, so have no idea how often things from the laundry are found. Maybe you'll get lucky. I think your initial question of what can you do has been answered. There isn't anything except maybe check in occasionally. I hope you come to terms with this being an accident, and nothing deliberate.

When I travel I always bring a travel blanket with me that has a pouch that can double to make it a travel pillow. I'm a weird person in that for basically my whole life normal pillows are very uncomfortable so that travel blanket is used as a pillow when I sleep (it's not in the pouch when I am using it this way).

When I have housekeeping I always remove everything that is mine off the bed. I am especially careful to make sure that blanket is put away in my suitcase because I know realistically it could easily be scooped up by housekeeping inadvertently as they are cleaning/changing.

In the future don't leave items on the bed, just as a general practice, just get in the habit of that and it'll be second nature.

OP they don't care about a small plush toy, stealing is pretty dang low on the "is that why it's missing" possibilities.
