I am setting aside my "Christmas Cookie Queen" crown this year and keeping it real low key..

I'm going to make the sugar cookie cut-outs with my granddaughter (and thanks to whoever it was that put me on to the Pillsbury Sugar Cookie Sheets) and I'll be making my DD & DSIL's favorite - M&M cookies..

That's pretty slim pickin's for cookies though.. Any ideas on one of two others that are REALLY simple and REALLY quick?

I'm just not into a marathon baking session this year..

Thanks! :flower:

If you like gingerbread cookies, the Nestle's pre cut gingerbread cookies are good. It even comes with icing for decorating. Depending on how much icing you use, you may need to buy extra pre made icing.

Tollhouse cookies. They are just so yummy and so Christmas to me.

I'm making peanut blossoms using the refrigerator peanut butter cookie dough (Our local Walmart has it) and Hershey's kisses. I'm also using refrigerator chocolate chip cookie dough. I may melt some chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in a double boiler and use it to make peanut clusters and chocolate covered pretzels. I don't think I'm making them this year, but rice crispy treats are always a big hit, and are fairly easy.

I bought Pillsbury gingerbread cookie sheets, not cut. You cut out stars, bake them, and then dip half in melted white (vanilla) chips.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions.. :)

I just went through my recipes and found a few others that sound pretty simple:

Soft and Chewy Molasses Cookies
Leslie's Lemon Bars
Snowball Cookies
Ricotta Cookies
------------

I think I also have 2 packages of cookie mix - peanut butter ones I think - so if I can work up the mood to do all of the above - along with the cut-outs and M&M cookies - I just might be able to retain my "crown".. Probably won't be allowed to actually wear it, but at least I can hang on to it until next year and not have to hand it over to someone else.. :teeth:

But you're still going to make me my homemade fudge, right?

LOL, you crack me up. I was going to suggest molasses cookies...cause they are fairly quick to make and "Christmassy"

Someone posted some ideas over on the budget board and I tried this one today...really easy and really good..

1 box of cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted
2 eggs

mix all together, roll into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar, bake 10 minutes in a 350 oven
I used chocolate cake mix and threw in 2 tblsp of cocoa powder, then rolled them in powdered sugar before baking.

I also made a batch with yellow cake mix rolled in cinnamon sugar. The kids next door said they tasted like cake batter ice cream. Yum!
