My recent experience with magic shots

We just got back from our trip. I was disappointed to discover that 75% of our magic shots didn't appear. The photo itself is there; the magic portion doesn't show in the picture. For example, I have one of my daughters holding out her hand but Tinker Bell isn't in her hand where she should be, so it just ends up being an odd photo of my daughter holding her hand out in a weird way. We've never had this problem before. Fortunately, we had some of the shots repeated throughout the course of our vacation so we ended up getting some. Unfortunately, we didn't have the same magic shot repeated so for some we don't have any at all. For example, we only sat on the curb at DHS once to get the Minnie or Mickey sitting beside you. It didn't take, so all I have is a photo of my girls sitting with a gap between them. None of our Tinker Bell shots took either. There seemed to be no pattern of error from one park to the next. I did notice that more of the magic shots worked at AK than the other parks. I'm writing this just to give people a heads up. If there's a certain magic shot you're wanting, I'd try having it took more than once by different photopass photographers and at different parks to increase your odds of getting one that works.

It's purely a guess, but as these are all super-imposed afterwards, it might be worth contacting them and see if they can do it now. It'll be fairly obvious from the poses which shot it is

Yes they will fix these for you if you give them a call and let them know that the characters are missing out of the shots.

I had the same issue after our last trip and I called them(don't write a complaint and wait for them to call you). They fixed them all:) They will ask you for a date and a roundabout timeframe of when the pictures were taken, so try to remember those before you call. Good luck!

Oh, wow! I would never imagined that they would fix them for you afterwards. I'm so excited that there's a possibility of getting them now. I'll definitely call them. Thanks for the help everyone!

I've had mine fixed on multiple occasions and I swear one of my pictures became a magic shot that wasn't meant to be one.

there is even a form you can fill out online. I did that during our Christmas trip and they fixed them over night no problem. :):goodvibes

We had something similar happen at the Halloween party. The hitch hiking ghosts only had two ghost. They resized the image and sent it to my account.

This happened to us once. I noticed it while still at WDW and called. They were fixed by the next morning.

For future reference, it is worth stopping by the photo center at any of the parks to have a quick look at your MM photos before you leave WDW, for that reason as well as to quickly check that all the shots you expected to see are there. Quite often they can fix something there and then and, since your pictures now expire based on date taken rather than date viewed, there is no problem with viewing them while at disney.

Thanks for that tip, wilma-bride - never thought of that!
