My Pyrex 9 x 13 pan Just Exploded In the Oven??

I had a large Pyrex meausring cup explode once. I was making instant mashed potatoes in the microwave (college cooking!) I heated the water in the microwave, and when I took it out and added the milk, the cup shattered! Needless to say, I haven't added cold liquid to hot glass since!

Mine broke in half when I took a peach cobbler out of the oven.

I had a pyrex pie plate explode once. I was holding it in my hand (with a potholder) hot from the oven and WHAM! then I wasn't holding anything but a small piece of purple glass. It was super scary. Luckily, neither me nor my cat took any glass.

SAME exact thing happened to me! ALL over, shreds of glass!

Dh tried to make dinner and cooked green beans on the stovetop in a round, lidded pyrex baking dish. Well, it exploded. Noone believed me either. I would not have used this dish on the stove but I remember about 20 years ago pyrex made glass pots and pans. Everyone in college wanted the purple glass set. My set in her ways grandmother even bought the brown glass set. Go figure.

I have Part of the Brown Visionsware set of pans left the 2 middle size sauce pans cracked a part, one while it was being hand washed, and the other one broke in the cupboard while taking it out to use it. the littlest one survived.

I still use the large soup pot almost everyday!! I still have the fry pans with lids, but we never liked them. I use either the Electric skillet or the cast iron fry pan.

Oh Man, it looks like I better look at replacing all that glass!! Look out Christmas!!
