:lmao:

My Mum is really quite excited to ride ToT on our trip, she's watched videos of it, and asks us about the ride at least once a week.

She is feeling really brave and proud that she's decided to ride it, but everytime she mentions it she gets all worried and says to me:

"Victoria, I'm going to swear and I'm not going to be able to help it, I don't want to upset anyone!"

:rotfl:

I can't see she'll say anything X rated, maybe just a bit of blasphemy.

I just think it's so funny the way that's what she's worried about!!

:lmao: That's the last thing I would have thought of if I was hesitant about riding something. Tell her everyone will be screaming at the time she wants to swear so it is possible that nobody will hear her. If anyone mutters anything when she gets off, tell her to announce loud enough for all to hear "I wish people would refrain from using foul language when families are around!" Tell her to put on her best disapproving look. ;)

Knowing her as we get into the lift she'll apologise to everyone in advance. I think that could work well, make it humorous.

Bless her.

I keep having this comedy vision of DHS being silent and then the ToT doors opening and a London accent ringing an obscene word across the park, all the birds go into flight etc. etc. :lmao:

Just tell her to pick a less offensive obscene word and practice saying it every time something goes wrong so it is well rehearsed by the time she gets there.

My mum freaked out on it and everyone just laughed at her however she had no idea of what it was like, my sister tricked her into going on it.:lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2: Im sure she wont be on her own. Times I have done rides and bitten on my hand as DD sittin next to me. DB never even been on a roller coaster and DD taking him on everything lol:rotfl: bigger fool him. Good idea that .... Torsie, get your mum to sit next to someone's very young child. Kids serve as excellent gobstoppers ;)

Now I don't suppose your mum sports some ventiloquist skills - that way everyone would be blaming the poor soul several feet away.

Very funny.

As suggested - get her to think of less offensive alternatives - I like flip, sugar and gosh myself ;)

i have to confess the people i work with swear alot, and i have picked up this horrid habit, so have started saying "pants" when things go wrong, now its second nature to me....british voice shouting "pants" may make the birds fly away:rotfl2:

Yes, especially since "pants" are trousers everywhere else in the world, lol. Reminds me of a relative who came to visit a couple of years ago and announced in the middle of the veg aisle in Tesco "I suppose I could just cut up my old pants and sew a hat ...." I wanted to crawl into the potatoes :faint: She would have done better to swear!

I'm so worried I will be sick when on those sort of rides that I keep my mouth firmly clamped shut!!!!!!! It works for me!!!!!!!

:lmao::lmao: hope you have the video camera ready for youtube upload :lmao:;)
I am very tempted!!! Although when the drops start I want to put my hands up, so I think I'll have to film up until that point..I suppose I can keep it on for audio though!

e too mate, went to AT last week and rode with the kids i teach, i went up in the estimation as was totally silent except on ripsaw, where i turned the air blue, the kids came off white faced, not sure if it wa stheride or me swearing:scared1:

I remember going on Kracken in Seaworld - hubby and I had swapped as the kids were too little and I ended up getting on with three teenage lads.

I screamed the whole ride a word similar to poo (begins in 's' ending in 't'). I had never been on an extreme roller coaster before and I had apologised both beforehand and afterwards - they just found the whole thing exceptionally funny!

I honestly would tell your mum not to get too worried - I found that I just laughed hysterically on ToT - it is not a ride that generates the swear factor for me - and those rides that do (like Kracken) tend not to have the easily offended little ears on them.

Crikey Me works for me, I say it so often, that it now comes out more than a swear word

Hiya -

I work in a school and have 2 little girls - so have trained myself to use "ssssssssssssssssugar lumps!!" Makes the kids laugh since they know it is "supposed" to be a swear word, but not... and disappointment is "oh pants" which the littler kids giggle at because it is sort of naughty... oh no, I just used the N word - how un p.c. - probably get into more trouble for that than swearing!!
