My points vs. sunshine rewards

I joined My Points in Feb. after reading about it on the DIS. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to earn points. I am awaiting my first GC in the mail. (Hopefully, the gas card will arrive before we leave for Disney in a couple weeks.) My favorite thing about My Points is that you can earn points just by clicking on the site. I like not having to sign up for anything that I am not interested in just for the sake of signing up. Some things I am interested in and some things I am not. And now when I do any online shopping, I go to My Points first.

But now I am interested in learning more about Sunshine Rewards because I read you can earn Disney gift cards.

But I would like to hear from people who have done both and learn what they like and least like about each before I make my decision to join.

I know many do well with SR, but most do the offers. For just straight shopping and email, I'd recommend My Points. That's all I do and I get a good amount of gift cards each year. Plus, if you are a Bzz Agent (bzzagent.com), you earn My Points for testing products for free and telling others about it.

I have stopped shopping at disneyshopping.com thru Sunshine Rewards as I have had a lot of trouble getting credit for my orders thru them. I now use upromise for my disney orders and don't have any problem. I have no idea why this happens but after submitting trouble tickets and not having resolution I just gave up on Sunshine for them.

That said, I buy stuff on ebay and use Sunshine for that and never have had a problem getting credit.

This might have been true when Sunshine Rewards first opened but not anymore. There are hundreds of merchants on Sunshine Rewards and more are added every day.

SR frequently runs contests in the forums and there is a shopping contest going on right now. There are rate increase specials listed every day on the news page as well as coupon codes and codes for free shipping.

They also have a SuperMember program. If you earn $100 in a quarter (3 month period), your credits only pend for 3 days instead of 21 days and some merchants are offered to SuperMembers at a higher rate. Quite the incentive.

I will admit I have done some offers ans surveys but many of them were bookclubs or items I wanted to try anyway like Kaboom. Most of my earnings over the past year have been from shopping.

There is a forum where members help other members by answering questions and giving tips to increase your credits.

That is strange and frustrating for you. Usually Eddie Bauer is the one who does that to me. Never had any trouble with DisneyShopping thank goodness. Not getting those credits would hurt. I have tried everything, from running CC, using Firefox.......nothing works. Eddie Bauer just doesn't like me.

Gotta love those ebay credits. Even for small stuff..........it adds up.

I do both mypoints and Sunshine. Like both as well

I use them for very different things.

Mypoints I really only do the paid clicks through emails and on their website.

I do all surveys, offers and shopping through SR. Sunshine has a LOT of merchants but if for some reason they don't have a place then I go to mypoints. Sunshine percentage back is just higher then mypoints.

I also had a hard time getting mypoints to credit for things I bought, years ago, so I went to Sunshine. I never have that problem with them.

I have made about $1000.00 in 2 years at Sunshine. Some people make WAY more some make less. At mypoints since I don't hit it hard I get about 2-3 gift cards a year from them. I think of them as bonus gift cards!! While Sunshine I use for my Disney trips.

If you get $20.00 you can cashout for paypal if you get $25.00 you can get a disney gift card. She has A LOT of things you can cash out for. I usually do Disney Dollars, Disney gift cards or paypal. But I have also done regal cinema tickets, regal gift cards, and a few restaurants!

If you are a supermember... and you want a Disney gift card... you can cashout for 48 credits = $50 disney gift card

so it is $2 for free... this is a big perk for me... and a reason I'll do what I need to ...to keep my supermember status...

I'm so excited as I have over 300 credits waiting to cashout for my December trip... I'm hoping to have at least another 100 before my trip...

You can shop, do surveys or sign up for offers. Once you sign up, check out their forum for threads about quick crediting offers and other helpful hints.

Love both Mypoints ans SR!

I primarily shop through SR, unless Mypoints has a great increased points special. I generally cashout for Disney GC's. I was a supermember for almost a year, but just couldn't maintain that level. I don't get into many surveys, so that kills me. I also went back to work full time, so I have much less time to be online in general. I LOVE the comeraderie on the forums at SR. Even though my earnings have slowed there over the past year, I still hang out there because it is fun!!! Since i joined in the spring of 2007 ( I think.) I have earned over $800.

I like Mypoints for all the easy clicks. I generally save them and do them once a week. They add up quickly. Last time we went to Disney, I cashed out for Rainforest Cafe GC's. This Christmas I'll probably ge tsome other gc's though. I wish MP had Disney GC's.
