I read awhile ago about someone using my points to get a webcertificate and then getting disney dollars. Could someone please explain how this works and what I need to do?
Thanks,
Steph.
I have done this twice so far. I cashed in MyPoints for 2 - $25 webcertificates. When you receive the webcertificate (via email) they will have a Mastercard number and expiration date. I then called the #800 Disney Store CATALOG number to place an order for a Disney Gift Card, (paying for them with the Mastercard #), which will be mailed to your home address. When you receive the gift card, you take it to your local Disney Store to purchase Disney Dollars. You cannot buy Disney Dollars from the catalog. They are considered cash and they will not send them thru the mail. One more tip....when you call the Disney catalog # they will ask you for a catalog #. Try and find one with FREE shipping included. Otherwise, you will have to add more $ to your webcertificate card (you can do that by adding any amount to another credit card) since the least amount you can purchase for a Disney Gift Card thru the catalog is $25.
You should check with your Disney Store first before you do this because some stores will not allow you to use the gift card to buy Disney Dollars. Ask at the store and get that persons name, as a back up incase you are refused when you get there.
I have also heard of people printing off their webcertificate information from the site, bringing that to the Disney Store to buy the Disney dollars. Thus skipping the Disney Gift card all together. But again, I would ask at your store first. I don't think my store would do this because they are VERY strict.
