Be sure to check to see if the points are still pending....you can't spend them if they are pending. My points from the contest are pending until Nov. 8th. If you go to your account you should see the balances on the right side listed as Point Balance, Pending, and Available to Redeem. You can see how long points are pending under Recent Activity on the left side of your account page. For example mine is listed as this:
