My pages so far for 2009

I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of my work.
The first 20 photos are of pages for a book I made my son's teacher. I had each kid send me a photo in their Communion outfits (all but 1 did ) Then I had them write a special note to the teacher. Their names are above the special notes. I blurred the kid names and their faces out for public viewing.

All these pages I did since January 1, 2009. I was so far behind with my son's holiday photos I wouldn't scrap a Disney trip till I was pretty much caught up (just need to do 2009's )...Yes, even the 2001, 2002, 2003 and so on were done this year LOL. I am so glad I have a great memory AND kept a diary LOL

I have a few favorites (flight canceled page 3-Irish Eyes are Smiling page 7) and I have pages that I can't stand (Egg Hunt page 8- Mexico page 9) but they are done that is all I have to say. My all time favorites are Small Fish big Reef page 9 (I got that layout for CK and loved how it turned out) and Dumbo page 10 and Then & Now page 11

I use a lot of sketches to get things done. I think if it wasn't for sketches I'd sit there for an hour just trying to figure out where things go LOL

I'm so far behind I think I'm going backwards LOL
I still have to complete my 2007 cruise, do my April 2005 Disney trip (good thing that was only a 4 day trip), 2008 Disney trip, I'm working on my 2007 Disney trip now and by the time I get any of that done I'll have a 2009 Disney trip. I also have to do 2nd grade school year. The good news is my kid just started 3rd grade so I'm not far behind with that. Getting caught up on all my school books was last years goal and I was caught up till school ended in June

I have to keep staying caught up with 2009 Holidays and I have 4 more Yearly set of Photos to do.
Good thing I have come to my senses and realized a great scrapbooker is never caught up (OK well that's my excuse for being behind)

I will look more in a few minutes but just wanted to say, I know what you mean about the use of sketches... I sit for hours and debate and debate and debate... Now, that Buffy got me Becky Higgin's Sketch book, and I found page maps archives, and start pulling out examples from magazines I get so much more done!!! I felt like for a while all my pages were exactly the same!!

I haven't looked at all of them yet, but wow did you get a lot done! They are wonderful! That's a great idea to use sketches to get pages done. I guess I don't do that enough and sometimes end up feeling that my pages look so similar.

I love Becky HIggins I have 2 of her sketch books and get CK each month.
I found that giving yourself a goal for the year is easy, sticking to it is kind of hard. What works for me is I give myself a goal each month (sort of break up your year goal number) and I usually hit it. If I don't hit it, I add up the "missing" layouts to the next months goal (hence me having to do 45 pages this month ) I'm usually pretty good at challenging myself to get things done.

It helps that I'm a stay at home mom with 1 child who is in 3rd grade so I don't have much going on. Yup, no life

Ps. I got another 6 pages done (brings me up to 241) there are also uploaded to my webshots (last page)

I live for sketches!! I have the 2 Becky magazines, the blue Becky book, and all of my CK books are ripped apart and filed by number of pics in the layout.
