My 'not over the door' shoe hanger solution

The entire point is storage, but even though much of the stuff may be toiletries, couldn't you just hang it in the closet from the rod?

You could, but I don't want to be walking from the bathroom to the closet to get my toothpaste, deoderant, etc. I know it's only a few steps but with four people in a room, the less traffic the better.

This sounds like a good solution. We used magnets last cruise, and they worked great, too.

I use my old Fish Extender when I travel. It is dated with a room number, so I don't use it as a Fish Extender anymore.

But I do use it on the bath towel rod for a little extra room in the bathroom. Not as large as the one shown here, but it does give a little extra room.

Plus it packs nicely in the side pocket of the suitcases.

This is a great idea! I was thinking about just throwing mine away as I didn't love it. But when we traveled we had two dope bags (one with hair stuff and one with medications) and it was such a pain having to move them around since there was never space on the vanity. My old FE could easily hold everything and roll up to be stored away if necessary so that the stateroom hostess can clean without it getting in the way.

Love the tip, I was the shoe hanger idea on Pinterest and thought it was a really good idea but then saw that it wasn't aloud... we will definitely being trying it your way!

Nice! I've done the same thing without a dowel rod (just added ribbon through the holes at the furthest ends) and it worked fine too, with no possibility of scratching. How well that works may depend on the stiffness of the top of your organizer, though (mind has a cardboard insert between the grommets). The other thing that has worked for me is bringing a plastic coated hanger with clips on it and just clipping the organizer to the hanger. No scratching and can hang anywhere you can hang a regular size hanger.

This works on the Magic and Wonder but if I remember correctly there is not a towel hook on the back of the door on the Fantasy and Dream

Well I'm sure we will find somewhere to hang ours... We are on the Disney Dream this year

We have 5 in a room on the Magic next year. This is going on my To Do list!

Thanks for the idea. I've done this on past cruises but it never occurred to me that I may not be able to use the hooks. I just purchased that same shoe bag for our trip since the other is in our Owner's locker in Orlando. Thanks for the great idea!

Has anyone tried this lately? Is it allowed with the dowel modifications?

Yes, true. I was just wondering if anyone was told to take one down that had been hung on a dowl on the hook of the bathroom door or if this is allowed.

We used to hang ours on the outside of one of the bathroom doors until they no longer allowed it. Now, I have put a small dowel rod and I hang it with string to the two hooks hanging on the wall in the room.

I am not a fan of clutter and hate stuff sitting around, so in the shoe holder we put things like sunglasses, suntan lotion, hair brushes and accessories, eye drops, contact stuff, deck of cards, small camera, lanyards, medications like Tylenol, advil, hairspray, hand lotion, tooth brushes/toothpaste, and other small miscellaneous items. Alot of these things are placed in the shoe holder, so that if someone is using one of the two bathrooms, you can have access to the items and use the other bathroom instead of waiting.

We love ours and even take it to the beach for our summer vacation and hang it on a door just inside our condo. Its just a place where people can drop their items instead of leaving them anywhere or everywhere. :)

Thanks. I used mine with the hooks before the idea was banned. I'm going on the 14 night PC and could really use the storage space..
