I've been working on a new place to host and display my photos. :surfweb:

Its still a work in progress but I'd very much appreciate your views (good or bad) on it. :)
Tell me about the look/feel, colours, ease of navigation etc
Please tell me what you like and what you dislike. Any feedback is helpful.
As its a work in progress any little problems, issues or thoughts you tell me about can be fixed now before its finished. :thumbsup2

You can find it here :)
New photos from my July trip to Orlando can be seen here :)

Although I'm looking for feedback on the gallery layout etc, any comments on the photos inside them will be gratefully received also good or bad :thumbsup2
TIA.

Great work. My only complaint is that camera hanging around your neck. They misspelled Canon. Oh well, must have been a bad batch. ;)

If you're thinking of the same photo I'm thinking of......
this one

Its actually a pic of a Universal Resort photographer. Not me :lmao:

Really lovely images. The site is easy to navigate and seems well organized to me.

Very nice lay-out. I have been in the process of re-designing my smugmug site as well. (I may PM you later to find out how you did a few things  )

Have you thought about adding a personal url? I just changed mine from www.scl.smugmug.com to www.capturelifeinaction.com - it was a pretty easy process and cost just under $50 for 2 years.

I know you are attempting to keep people from downloading your photos by turning off right clicking, but if its on the web it can be downloaded. The only reason I mention this, is because I'd like to get the exif info off your shots and right clicking is the quickest way. Just thought I'd mention that it will keep the everyday user from downloading it, but its a pretty quick "workaround" to download them if someone wanted to do it.

I'm curious what process you used for the personal url, I have 2 that only cost me 10 a piece per year..

also do you have a contract of some sort with the sports league, to be able to sell the photos..??

the photos are awesome, Ilike the site, with one exception I personally find the red text on the orange background hard to read..

one thing I would point out though, I don't know that I'd flaunt your site too much on here, unless you have a contract with Disney, it's not legal to sell pics of WDW nor any disney property..

Nicely done! Really clean and easy to navigate. I really like the picture in your header.

'll be opening a pro account on SmugMug soon too. Just curious, how long did it take you to get your site to where you liked it?

I set it up on godaddy.com- securing the domain and setting up a 5-email address account for two years was the cost. To get it all to mesh with smugmug I just followed the tutorial online- I'm not really proficient at stuff like that at all.

I have permission from the sports league- no 'contract' Is that illegal too?

Since all the pictures in the Disney gallery are unprotected and free to anyone to download full resolution I'm not too worried about it. :rolleyes1

actually since the athletes are minors it's not legal without a signed model release from each parent..

When you hover over a photo the dropdown photobar contains all the photo info. :thumbsup2

Thanks. :)
Unfortunately I tried customizing it by myself using the tutorials but I wasn't happy with the result. I now have a friend helping me out. :rolleyes1

Yes, considering it, but I can change my smugmug nickname in "Account Settings" and this will change the site url to something more consistent to the theme of the gallery.
No one is gonna want to buy any of my photos. They're not good enough. :sad1: I add the "buy" stuff to fill out the site and make it look better. I haven't even set any prices. Its a nice hobby for me.
I'm gonna disable the "buy" option for the Disney ones anyway. I'm still working on everything
Thanks everyone for the feedback. :thumbsup2

I always set Firefox to not allow Javascript to disable context menus, so I never even notice when sites try to pop up those annoying errors. :thumbsup2

Good plan, I have firefox, but just can't get myself to use it all the time.
