I took a couple more photos last night. Everything has been sort of disorganized lately, but I think I finally got everything back to how its supposed to be. I found the other layouts I need to finish the titles on. I'm hoping to do that this weekend so I can post those, but here are two more.
"Forward 54th!" - Freedom Trail, Boston
This layout is of the Robert Gould Shaw and 54th MA Infantry monument in Boston. I have wanted to see this monument for years. It was our first stop on the Freedom Trail. It was dedicated on May 31, 1897 to commemorate the bravery of the first black regiment to serve in the Civil War. If you've seen the movie, Glory this is the monument they show at the end. The battle that the 54th MA is most known for is the attack on Fort Wagner on July 18, 1863 in South Carolina. The regiment had 600 men at the beginning, but afterwards, 116 men, including Colonel Shaw were killed, and 156 were wounded or captured. That is a total of 272 casualties. Afterwards Colonel Shaw was placed in a mass grave with his men which was thought to be an insult, but his parents were proud to have their son buried with his men and felt that he would have approved.
The title is one of the last things spoken by Colonel Shaw. I used Stamped for it. I used the dark blue to represent the Union uniforms. I printed the photos in sepia because when we were in Boston it was morning and the sun made it difficult to get good photos of the monument. The colors were kind of washed out so I thought they would look better in Sepia. I'm not sure who made the paper. I will have to look when I get home.

The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere - Freedom Trail, Boston
This layout is of the Paul Revere statue near the Old North Church in Boston on the Freedom Trail. I incorporated the poem "The Midnight Ride of Paul Rever" by Longfellow. I printed that on cardstock then tea stained it and chalked the edges. The tea staining helps to give it an aged look and wrinkle it. It was difficult to fit the entire poem in the space I needed it to fit. The title is Stamped and Base Camp. The paper is Basic Gray - Scarlet Letter. I also used some Bazzill for the title.
