Disney cruise lines!! I've come to the realization that we HAVE to do this as part of our honeymoon!!! Anyone else doing this?? any of you sept 09 brides doing this?? has anyone gone on the dcl?? advice..rants,raves..tips.. bring it..please:cutie:

It's all very confusing!

ugh.. df may kill me before we even get to the wedding.. if thats even happening.. still not sure :rotfl: if i spend any more time on the dis!!:disrocks:

I have no idea about DCL, as I've never been, but I just have to say that you're awesome. :rotfl2: I was just looking at Lynns pics and DF said, "omg, are you on that site again?" :rotfl2:

at least someone thinks i'm awesome..cause df thinks i'm :rolleyes2

ps- i think your awesome too.. so tell your df to put that in his juice box and suck it!!:duck:

Yup, we went on a 4-night Wonder cruise with a double dip at Castaway Cay as part of our Disneymoon. This was my first Cruise EVER and it was AWESOME! I wish I could go back now! I'll try to post some pics here in a few...

DCL is amazing! I'm not even engaged yet, and I'm already planning on having my honeymoon on DCL. I went back in '06, and it was soo much fun. I'd recommend the Disney Magic (the 7-day one) if you can afford it. If not, I've heard great things about the Wonder too.

If nothing else, make a reservation for Palo. There's rotational dining with the ships between 3 different restaurants. But Palo cost a little extra (I think $10/person), and you NEED to make reservations - but I cannot even convey to you how amazing the food is. And talk about incredible waitstaff! If you do DCL, you have to do Palo.

Other than that, check out this thread, which has tips and "secrets" about DCL - a helpful thread before traveling.

The DCL is a whole 'nother monster. Just like WDW, once you get hooked, there's no going back :)

...and if you need any convincing, look at this!!

Hope you will be able to go, it was my favorite part of our Disneymoon!

We are doing the 7 night Western Caribbean for our Disneymoon on Oct 4/08. We have never cruised before but we are very excited. As an added bonus we know the performer who plays Belle and Snow White on the Magic. The more i read on the DIS boards about DCL the more i think we will become addicted the way we already are to visiting the parks.

We're doing the 3 night Bahamian cruise as our honeymoon in October 09.

We booked early to get the best rates and onboard credit that was on offer by booking online direct through DCL, then we transferred our booking to Dreams Unlimited as they had a further onboard credit offer that could be added to what we already have :thumbsup2

Again, everyone tells me that Palo is a must do, but to make sure that we don't go there on the night that the Animator's Palette is our restaurant, as dinner is like a show that night!

I can't wait to experience some new Disney goodness :goodvibes

DCL is a MUST and trust me it is one of the most wonderful times you will experience. Walking onto the ship is like stepping into a movie - everything sparkles and the food is superb. You can get Mickey ice-creams any time you want, they have movies and shows every night and stopping at Castaway Cay [Disney's island] is such a highlight.
We live in Australia and we went on it last year for 5 day and are already planning to go again next year to Mexico for the 7night cruise!

And yes, the DCL forum is very addicted [much like this one he he]
That is where I really started reading the DIS.

epcotsweetheart great pics!! thanks so much for sharing! and yall are a very cute couple :)

ok.. the rotational dining thing confuses me.. the reason were doing 4 day is because from what i gathered we'd get to try all the good food easier that way.. as opposed to cramming it all in 3 days:rotfl: oh yes thats ne lol cause who plans their honeymoon around food?? yup, me!! i do KNOW that we have to try animators palate.. ever since i saw the disney cruis;ine special on tv, i was like oh no they didnt, thats right up my alley!

i forget who said we should do the 7 day cruise... i would love to, but it is our first cruise, so i want to start off with a smaller vacation in case df or the kiddies hate it! also, i've been dying to go to atlantis for years!! and since i dont fly, this is my opprotunity!!! We also wanted to make sure we had time to do wdw too, so a 7 day would have eaten up all our park days...

ugh.. keep the wellw ishes coming.. im addicted and this NEEEEEDS to happen... if all of my wishes do come true i couldnt imgaine not being happy for at least a year.. i'll fer sure have a perma-smile!:beach:

Thanks! :) The food rotation thing was kind of confusing for me too. When you get on the boat, you get your Key to the World for the ship and it has some letters on it. Ours was PTTA so that means our rotation was Parrot Cay, Triton's, Triton's again, and Animator's Palate. We had Palo one of the Triton's nights, so we got to eat everywhere... which was very important to me! :) It really is fabulous though, I want to go again really soon, but we are still broke from our wedding. :(

Yup! We got married at SBP on May 12th... it seems so long ago now, haha! Triton's was really tasty, it is French food. My DH got a kick out of ordering the escargots! At Castaway Cay we did the shore excursion where you get the intertube, bikes, and snorkel equipment... but we only ended up using the intertube floaty so we kind of wasted money on that. We also did a Couples Cabana Massage... you guys HAVE to do this!! It is expensive but definitely worth the money!!:) At Nassau, we did the Aquaventure excursion where you get to see the aquariums and go to the Atlantis water park.... this was lots of fun too! It is a lot of walking though, and if you have little ones then you should know that the minimum for all the slides at Atlantis is 48 inches. We left our DD at home with the grandparents so we didn't have to worry about that. On a side note, I did think that Atlantis would be much nicer than it actually was... maybe I expected too much?? :confused3 Your kids will love seeing all the characters too, they are all over the place! My favorite was Jack Sparrow... he called me his treasure!! :lovestruc

I get motion sickness very easily, which makes me nervous about DCL... any tips? I would love to go!! :hyper:

Have you been on a cruise before? The reason I'm asking is because I know a girl who got motion sickness on a normal boat and she didn't get sick at all on the cruise. Since the ships are so big, you hardly feel it moving. If you are worried about it, there is medicine you can take so you don't get sick. It's worth it!
