My Name Is NOT Broccoli!

Fun Japanese pictures! Connor bought the gold kitty on our last trip. :goodvibes

Those dried fish things are gross. :scared:

I suspect Jill might have something to say about your request for four more grandchildren.

Before anyone makes comments about these socks, I'll just say that I like them and I have a few pairs of them.
In fact I've brought them back to some co-workers and they like them too!

I need some of these to go with my Teva's!

They are perfect with flip flops!

I've never tried any of those on. I bet they would feel kind of wierd at first. They do have some cute colors and designs. I bet my students would get a kick out of socks like that. I should get a pair just to show them. :)

:rotfl:

Just putting in your request, huh?

Yes. :goodvibes
I wanted a bunch of kids, but I didn't get them.
I want a bunch of grandkids, but I don't think I'm getting those, either.
The ones I am getting are pretty good ones, though. ;)

Fun Japan pictures!

It's so much fun to look at everything in that store.

I am loving these sunny World Showcase pictures! Please keep them coming!

I am enjoying seeing the blue skies and people walking around in short sleeves, too.

There is so much stuff in that Japan store. I got a few food items, and the kids enjoyed seeing that in our Japanese display.

The snow is picking up in Nashville. I'm getting ready for school, but waiting for our county to scroll across the TV screen any minute. I know the 3rd and 4th grade teachers must be stressing about the TCAP prep time they are losing. I would be. There's nothing they can do about it, but January, February, and March are crucial months for cramming stuff into those little brains.

Oh my! I think the snow is going to miss us this time! Whew!

Oh my! I think the snow is going to miss us this time! Whew!

No school.
We're on Snow Day #9 now.
We've never seen nine snow days before.
The snow is coming down pretty fast right now. It's supposed to stop being heavy by about 9:00 and taper off into flurries by noon.
It has been cold and gray (or white) and wet and yucky pretty much since before Christmas. I think people around here are going to go crazy when spring finally arrives! We're used to one or two minor snows around here, a couple of snow days, and plenty of winter days in the 20's, 30's, and 40's, but we're not used to what we've had this year.

I've already started a load of laundry. I'll do what I always do on snow days, now that I am becoming such an expert. I'll do a few house chores, a little schoolwork, and a lot of watching HGTV and DISing. :)

NINE snow days?! Wow! That is unbelievable.

Yep, it is.
We never use all our 5 snow days, so this year they lowered it to 4.
I guess Mother Nature was not happy about that.

Wow, and it's still January! Is Jill getting snow in Alabama?

They called schools as going in late there as of last night, but I don't know if that has changed this morning. I haven't talked to Jill yet. I don't think they were supposed to get but maybe one inch, if that.

It's a mess here. They are reporting wrecks all over the place. I am happy to be safe in the house, and my car is safe in the driveway. :thumbsup2

I hope February is kinder to us than January has been. ::yes::

Holy cow. Nine snow days?! Snow is supposed to start here later today. Another ~8" to go with the 3+ feet already on the ground. And the forecast just said even more on Sat and then more still on Tues. :scared1:

Thank goodness for virtual trips to WDW on the DIS!

I have the gold kitty, too.
So far, she hasn't been meowing loudly enough, I guess.

I dared not try one of those gross fish things.

She said if she had more help at home, she'd have more kids, but I'm not looking for that to happen. Neither one of my boys is anywhere close to having kids, either, so I guess I'm just out of luck on lots of grandkids. At this point already, I won't get to see them grow up, get married, and have kids of their own. It's the one thing that makes me sad, really, when I think about it. I figured with three kids I'd have nine grandkids, and I assumed they would all start things pretty much in their early twenties. My thoughts were way off base.

I see pictures of what is going on north of us and am very grateful that I am here. Every time I look out the kitchen window and see that everything is white again, it makes me more and more ready to pack my suitcase and head to Florida. I hope the weather there in 4 weeks and a few days is fabulous! :cool2:

1 month from today we leave for Disney!!

We are on a snow delay this morning - with no snow on the ground. The county schools called a 3 hour delay yesterday at 3:00pm. I was and am still super annoyed because Brooklynn was supposed to have her Kindergarten interview this morning at 9:00. I really wish they would have waited to see if the snow was going to actually come before they made a decision to delay.

I think we dodged the snow this time. However, it's raining and cold and yucky here.

MeMom: enjoy your day today! :goodvibes

Nine snow days? WOW!

Our snow hasn't started yet. It's supposed to start later in the afternoon and snow steadily till the same time tomorrow. I like snow but this is a little crazy even for me!

I thought of you and how you can't stand the cold weather when this occurred to me and figured you might appreciate it...yesterday, when it was in the mid-thirties, all I could think was, "this almost feels warm." We had bitterly cold temps for a couple of days (highs of 12 during the day and lows in the negatives at night, along with wind chills up to -25), so the slight breezes and temps in the thirties felt like nothing!

I'm sorry to hear that you all got more bad weather. We got a little bit of snow, but no school closings and such. At least you don't have to get out in the cold this morning. I wish I could stay inside my house for the whole winter, I HATE the cold.

My brother has 4 girls and probably wouldn't mind having more, but his wife is done. My mom has 2 children and 6 grandchildren. I think she did pretty well. She would love to have more. I tell her she should have had more kids.

That is news that could brighten one's day.

Another snow day?!?! Wow!

Have a fun day on the DIS & with HGTV.

I have done some laundry, caught up the check book, made an omelet, and watched some youtube Disney videos. I love hearing the voice overs on the monorails and buses. It really makes me feel like I am there. One I was watching showed the Epcot fountain that I always try to get a good picture of. I think I may be realizing why I can never get the picture I truly want - because the sound is such a part of standing in front of it. Seeing it in a picture just leaves something that is vital to the feeling missing.

I will. A full five day school week is going to be a killer....
whenever we get one.

At least the temperatures are not as cold as they were. We're in the low 30's.

I am sitting on my bed with a Cinderella Castle blanket (thanks, Wigd!) over my shoulders and two blankets on my legs. I am incredibly cold-natured and always have been.

Any time our weathermen are saying 40-something these days, I have hope that we may be ready to break out of this winter slump. Unfortunately, I read that we are nowhere near finished with cold temperatures. :sad2:

Our system won't go in late. A lot of the magnet school kids ride city buses, and they say that messes everything up for them. This would have been the perfect day for a late start.

If I could have foreseen the future and known that I was only going to get two grandkids from three kids, I would have definitely figured out a way to have more kids. I almost adopted another little boy through Holt. He was a waiting child, though, and since I was raising three alone on hardly any money, I didn't think I could do right by any of them by going through with it. I hope he went to a wonderful home who has given him everything he could need and want to have a great life. He'll probably end up having five kids!!!

I guess since I had three, I figured my kids would think that was a good number, and they'd do the same. At 53 already, even if they have kids in the next 5-7 years, I probably won't live to know them as adults. That really does bother me, but I know there is nothing I can do about it. I'll just try to make really great times for the ones I do have so that when I am gone, they can have good memories to think on.

MeMom - if you want, I'll be your grandchild!! :) I'm almost 29 but I can be the 4th grandkid!! :)

i come from a pretty huge family on my mom's side, so it was pretty much a given that my mom would have a bunch of kids. (she's one of seven - also 6 girls & 1 boy  AND my grandfather was one of six and my grandmother one of nine! :confused3)

now my mommom (that's my grandma) & daddad (grandpa) will be 75 & 81 this year, respectively, with 20 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild!

so i think you still have some time to catch up! :wizard:

if not, feel free to borrow - there's so many of us running around, the grown-ups would hardly notice a few missing! :rolleyes1

I can't believe that you have had that many snow days! It has been so bitter cold here. When I brought the girls to school this morning it was 10 degrees and I have to say it feels like a heat wave!

:yay: for the new computer!! I am loving my HP. So much quicker!!

Love the stroll through WS. Cannot wait to stroll through the caramel store!!

I will have to check out those socks in Japan. I love my knee highs (especially with this cold weather right now).

We are expecting the snow later tonight into tomorrow morning. They are saying about only 4 inches right now. At first they were saying 10-12!!:scared1:

Hope you are enjoying your snow day.

MeMom your scenario of listening to the gospel music had me:rotfl:!!!
