Memom, just jumping on my daughters laptop and catching up. Family of the day. Woot.
I love me some AK, yes i do.
Laying on the ground and picture taking sometimes results in pictures that are envy worthy, lay away i say. :
On to other things, the tumble monkeys are very 'muscular'.
And to those fellow friend disser's who need the prayers, i just sent some up for you. Sometimes we feel like life is just kind of taking over, then we hear of how some are going thru so much worse, so my prayers ended today with a thank you. I hugged all my children today. They hugged me back. Life is good.
On with the show ladies......

We'll be moving on through AK in just a few minutes. If I lived near WDW, this is a park I would visit often.
True, we can feel sorry for ourselves on any day, but then look around and decide there others going through so much more.
Looks like a fun day at AK!!! Yay for family of the day!!
We did have fun. Other than ITTBAB scaring Janessa, everything else was grand.
Hi there! I've still been reading along, even though I haven't been commenting.
I just wanted to share this article that I read yesterday. It is about the baby gorilla, and I found it to be quite fascinating. Apparently, she is half the size she should be for her age, and they have been doing all kinds of tests and therapy with her. It amazes me the things they are doing for her! I wonder if this is the reason she seems a little bobble-head(ish)?

Also, it says her name is Lilly. I think someone said they were told by a CM that they can't tell her name. I guess they didn't tell the reporter at the newspaper that!
Thank you for sharing that. I love reading things like that! An older male CM is the one who told me they would not tell the names. He said they didn't want people calling the names out to the animals, because then they wouldn't listen as effectively to the trainers when they worked with them. That's just what he said. I really don't know.
Sounds like Lilly almost has "failure to thrive". She is in the best possible place to get diagnosed and treated.
I read an article a long time ago, I think from the organization over all Florida zoos, and it said WDW rated excellent in their animal care. This was after some accusations about something to do with the holding pen of the big animals - white rhino, etc. - that you see from the train as you go out to Rafiki's.
Thanks for the update on Caleb -- I hope he continues to improve.
Ah, the famous bin of Yetis! Two of them snuck home with us on a previous trip.
What an interesting article about Lilly! Poor baby! I think it is so fascinating that although she is not growing and developing as fast as she should, her mother is still right there helping her along.
Caleb's dad said he left Atlanta with six goals, and he has reached five of them. When they go back, they will create a new set of goals. He also talked about how this had affected the entire family, as they do have two other sons who need their time, too.
The last report I saw on the news a little while back said that it had been determined that the rock that hit him probably was pushed off by someone rather than just fell off. That sadly means someone was really not thinking at all, but that action changed other lives forever. Think about what they have to live with now, knowing what they did to that little boy.
I thought of you guys when I posted the Yeti picture.
I'll have to ask questions about Lilly when we go next month. We'll see what the CM that is present has to say.
Prayers for all of our friends in need.
Ahhh, her name is Lily....so cute!
Thanks for sharing the article about her. Very interesting.
HAVE A GREAT DAY LADIES! Off to work I go.....brrr it's cold outside.
This is my last day of a very long and unexpected vacation. I will make it half productive and half fun.

Making out way out of Animal Kingdom.
I think one day I will buy one of these. They fascinate me, for some reason.
Ouch!
Some Disney for Halloween.
Some Disney for Christmas/winter.
We have not eaten at either RFC in WDW. We ate at the one here in Nashville before it was flooded. I don't know if we will ever get one back here now that the mall may not open back up. That makes me sad, because it did give us a tiny reminder of Disney World whenever we went to visit our hippo.
My, what big eyes you have!
This is a fun place to shop.
