My Name is Chris and I am a Fort Wilderness Addict..Updated 12/16

So last night was a break from Disney prep to see Jeff Dunham, well we laughed our butts off. Not exactly for the kids, but he put on a good show that was just over 2 hours long. So we got home it was after midnight, to bed and slept in this morning. This afternoon I continued to work on the trailer and got the toilet paper holder installed.

This has been our set up since purchasing the trailer. Functional.

A different view, the toilet paper is on an outside wall, behind the toilet is the end of the trailer.

Some woodworking on my part.

A little bit different than when we started. Nice improvement.

Love the name on your Magic Band, but when you check in for the first time, don't you have to show an ID with that name on it?

So before I go and start loading the non-perishables in the trailer. I figured I would post the final pictures of our DisBoard Campsite marker.

And again.

He is very lime green.

So, went for a walk outside and thru the neighborhood, since it is 57 degrees outside. Got the dry goods relocated to the camper and in their respective cabinets. All the liquid stuff needs to stay in the house until we leave or very close so it doesn't freeze up. I am sure we will see temperatures drop below freezing again before we depart. The one thing I still need to do on the trailer is raise the weight distribution bar holders. They were very tight as they were set up for the old truck height which was lower than the dually. Should have no problem doing that tomorrow while it is warm outside.
Still need to pack my photography stuff after I clean all the lenses and filters and reassemble them all.

So here is how our itinerary looks so far. We will leave home Thursday night/ Early AM Friday, with our destination being Walterboro, SC. we will have lunch packed in the truck with us, as well as drinks. Stops will be to take on fuel and to use the potty. Friday night, we will unhook, I just pull the truck up a couple feet and we will set up and head to bed. Saturday is a better day to travel as we will be leaving later and are not looking at so long a drive. Saturday will find us going from SC down 95 to Mims, FL and a stop to visit Kennedy Space Center. Going to spend Sunday visiting the Space Center then a relaxing evening at the campsite.
Monday will find us up early, hooking up and headed West, destination the Fort and the Disney bubble. We figured we will get there about 8am and don't really expect our site to be ready. We will check in and if not ready we will park in overflow and off to AK for the day. Come back and set up for the evening, and get ready for a wild week of Disney fun.

The DW wanted to go later this year, but we ended up booking when we did, so this year we will miss the Flower and Garden festival. Gonna miss Ranger Mickey this year, these are from last year.

So, I know I said I was done with projects for this trip, well I may have fibbed. Today finds me running around the house and out to the shed, for I have decided to add a shelf to my side of the trailer in my closet. I don't hang many clothes almost everything is folded, so a second shelf in there makes sense to me. So I cut the frame, the legs, got everything sanded and tomorrow evening with nail together and cut the top board that will act as the shelf. I will seal the top of the shelf with poly, so I don't get a splinter during the trip. Ok, this will be the last project, I am sure ??

I have decided to add a shelf to my side of the trailer in my closet.
I'll probably do the same thing to mine. The whole nose of the trailer is hanging closets or the washer/dryer space. No shelf space. I also don't take many things that hang. Lot's of time for me though. I'm not the one on a count down clock.

BTW I took my boys to see Jeff Dunham here in Birmingham about 3 years ago. Naturally i relate to Walter but the best part was when he brought out Bubba J. He said he doesnt always bring him out but knew he should in Alabama.

What was fun was 5,000 people saying Bubba's lines at the same time as Bubba was (we had all seen the specials on Comedy Central). Jeff laughed at us. :rotfl:

It is pretty cool the way he interacts with the audience. He did some of this older stuff, and was working on some new material. He aired the Superbowl 50 ad about picking teams. So we got to see it a few days before it was out. Came out on monday or tuesday to his facebook page. Was a nice night out and a break from all the Disney prep we are doing.

He already posted it on his FB, but I have not watched it yet. Like you there is much prep going on at home.

Well, got to building the shelf for my closet in the trailer. It was going very good until I realized I had nailed the frame together and it was stuck inside the bandsaw. I had been using the bandsaw as a work table it was flat and fit the shelf exactly, nailed everything together was admiring my work when it hit me, oh crap, I have no way to get it out.:sad2: If only I had been drinking, at least then I would have had an excuse for this stupidity. So had to bang apart one corner, cut the brads, and nail it back together. Cut the shelf from luan, two coats of poly and it is now in the trailer. :) So all we have left is to load up the perishables, fill our propane tanks and I think we will be ready to roll. Less than two weeks, and I am more than ready to hit the road.:drive:

Chris - Just shows to prove that you might as well enjoy a beer while your at it.

Just a work week away at this point to arrival!!! Printing out the last of the lists to make sure it all gets done in time. Tonight I will load up some clothes in the trailer, but with a storm pending I will pull the slides in just in case.

So I am finally down to being a single digit midget.:yay: The weather she is a turning colder, dropping to 10 for a high this weekend overnights, below zero.:cold: Talk of another coastal storm, see how that pans out, too far out to be worried.:sad2: Want to hook up the trailer and take it for a test pull and run it over the CAT scale. See what we are running with the new truck setup. Looks like I will be doing it in the next couple days before the big cold rolls in. A propane run is in order, and I think that will put us ready to travel. Look forward to taking some pictures and posting our TR as we can.

Only 3 days remain till our departure, time to pick up the perishables, do the final packing, and get my area of the house in order.

Well just returned from a quick trip up the highway with the trailer. Had moved the sway bar location and wanted to see how the trailer reacted. Felt good, no obvious reaction to being passed by tractor trailers. So all is good, checked all hardware to make sure everything was tight. Have to check tire pressure before we leave, but they should be ok, I checked them before we winterized. So we are now backed in the driveway, need to finish packing up the interior, keep warm and soon it will be time to head south.

Reminds me, I need to make some brake adjustments on my trailer before we pull out on our first camping trip of the year in March.

While we were hooked up we decided to see what our overall length was, just for curiosity sake. Measured from the spare tire on the trailer to the nose of the truck was nearly 53 feet. We knew the trailer nose to bumper was 29ft 6 inches. So we need to make a grocery run, maybe a walmart trip, and that should be it.
