Aww you are too sweet! Thank you for the kind comments on my pictures!!! The ones with the Dalmations were taken in the back of Exposition Hall, if I remember correctly. If I am wrong and someone on here knows it, please set me straight! :dance3:

I was wondering where the Dalmation ones were too, so thanks. Great photos as always, you've only got yourself to blame when she grows up to be a model

Wow, I had to post (as per your request of us readers) and tell you WOW! Those photos are simply or not-so simply AMAZING! I love the way you have captured some many memories with pictures...you will have wonderful memories to share with your dd as she grows...forever!

I am glad you emptied the puter out for space...can't wait to see more of those pictures.

The funny thing is, she really wasn't hiding! She just sat down and disappeared!!! I guess that goes to show how little she really is still. Hehehe. ;)

Aw, it's still a cute picture! I'm gonna think of her when I walk by that car in July!

MGM and an UNEXPECTED KISS

On this morning we woke up quite excited knowing that we were going to be checking into the Wilderness Lodge and visiting a new park. We had planned to spend the majority of the day at MGM Studios. Seeing that we wanted to get there sooner rather than later, we hurried and got ready. When the bell hop got to our room, we were all packed and ready to go. Once down in the lobby of the Dolphin Hotel, he asked us if we were going back home. When we explained that we were not, that we were heading over to the Wilderness Lodge he kindly asked us to step aside and hang on for a minute or two. When he returned, he explained that he would be paying for our ride to the Wilderness Lodge. We hadn’t expected that at all…aw, some more wonderful pixie-dust! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, what can I say about the Wilderness Lodge? It was absolutely stunning, simply gorgeous. It kind of took our breath away when we walked in and saw the gigantic Christmas tree and the wonderful fireplace, all-aglow! It was a beautiful resort and we felt so thankful that we had the opportunity to spend the next few nights there. We checked in but were not able to get our room just then so we left our bags and headed to the bus stop. Before we knew it we were walking through the entrance of the MGM studios!

We found a cute little bakery there and devoured some bagels and bananas and washed it down with some refreshingly cold milk. DH always eats faster than the two of us so once he was done I suggested he run off and grab some fast passes for Rockin’ Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror. Once again, I should point out that roller coasters and I do not really go all that well together. Anyway, DH was more than happy to depart us for a few minutes to grab his passes for later use. The little one and I sat there leisurely and watched the birdies swoop down for all the crumbs left behind.

Once she had finished her milk and was ready to go, we walked over to Playhouse Disney. We were just a tad too late for that first show so we decided to go see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid first. Again, we were not the first ones there and thought we were going to have to wait until the next showing. However, just then a sweet Disney Cast Member came up and said if we didn’t mind holding our little one on our lap she could fit us in. Of course we didn’t mind so we ended up in the very front row, the last two seats on the far left when facing the stage. The Little Mermaid would be appearing directly in front of us! It was a great show and our daughter just loved it!

After that we strolled back across the way to Playhouse Disney. This time we were the first ones in line, directly behind the rope. Now initially we thought this was wonderful but soon realized that line is one in which you do not want to be in the front! Since everyone sits on the floor we ended up directly in the front row, right below the stage and had some difficulty seeing parts of the show. It really wasn’t too big of a deal though because our little one had a blast and even went right up with the host at one point and danced with her. A few other kids were up there dancing too but when they returned to their designated spots on the carpet, our DD was holding hands with the host and was allowed to stay up there for the last couple minutes of the show. It was truly a wonderful experience for our little one and she was overcome with smiles and shy grins! This would soon become one of my favorite memories from our first ever family vacation. Luckily for us, DH managed to capture it all on video, unfortunately, I only snapped a few pictures. It wasn’t until I got home and went through all my pictures that I realized I failed to take a great number of pictures that day we spent at MGM Studios. (What was wrong with me that day?? I have no clue…LOL) There is so much more video footage from this day, including my favorite clip of all times…now onto that.

Bear in the Big Blue House.

After saying goodbye to “Bear in the Big Blue House”, I suggested DH go experience the thrill rides while I took DD to see the “Beauty and the Beast” show. This was quite agreeable to him and we went our separate ways for a short amount of time. Being quite early for the show so we managed to pick out some perfect seats…. well according to our little one they were the “perfect” spot. She had decided where she wanted to sit…haha. Well as I sat there on the bleacher bench, watching my DD play around I quickly thought these might not be the best seats after all. As the auditorium started to fill up, a man, sitting directly behind us became quite obnoxious with his family. He was really starting to annoy me and as I started to get up to move down the bench and away from him, a bunch of people poured into the isle and I was trapped. Oh well I thought, the show would be starting soon and hopefully he would cease his annoying speech, plus DD was quite oblivious to it all so I guess I could hang on a few more minutes. While all this was going on in my mind, my dear daughter was making friends with a little boy, just about her age, who sat down beside her. He was the cutest little guy with the cutest little accent; his family was from France. Just then the show started and all was quite and calm. We were both enjoying the show and I thought I would tape a few minutes of it to show my DH what he missed. After pointing the lens at the stage, I turned the camera onto my daughter, who was sitting to my left. Her face was glued to the stage as was the little boy sitting next to her. As I videotaped her from the side, I suddenly realized that the two of them were holding hands. Yes, HOLDING HANDS. Their little backs were pushed up to the seats, their hands interlocked and resting on the bench, their faces staring straight ahead. I couldn’t help myself as I zoomed in and captured the moment all on video. Forget the show, I had something cuter to watch. Maybe you had to be there, or maybe it had to be your child, but I thought it was one of the sweetest moments. The little boy’s father looked at me and grinned, he obviously thought it was sweet as well. The two of them held hands for the longest time. Once the show ended and we all stood up, the little boy leaned in and planted a sweet, innocent little kiss on my dear daughter’s rosy cheek. As the film rolled and I continued to capture this moment on tape, DD immediately wiped his kiss off with her hand but no later ran up to him and gave him a great big hug! I could not believe it…it was the cutest thing and I couldn’t believe I had it all on video!!! The little boy smiled at my girl and they hugged again. He said goodbye in his best English and as they both waved bye-bye, he continued down the isle with his father. My DD followed right behind him, smiling the whole time. Once we were outside and I saw DH I started to tell him all about it when our little one let go off my hand and started to run off. She had found the little guy again, sitting in his stroller, and she walked up to him and gave him a leaf she had collected from the sidewalk just a moment before. Again, I have this all on video, the little guy sitting in his stroller watching her every move and her running all around him. He had a rather large family surrounding him and they all were grinning and smiling at the two little ones, who had obviously become quick friends and were having so much fun together. Eventually we parted ways, but our DD kept asking where that little boy was. Laughing…this video has got to be the cutest we took that whole trip. The video image goes from watching Beauty and the Beast kiss to the adorable little French boy kissing our DD on the cheek. I wish we knew his name just in case their lives ever crossed paths again. Can’t you just imagine a fairytale movie…..two sweet toddlers, from two very different parts of the world, meet in WDW and quickly become friends. The girl’s mom captures their first innocent kiss on a videotape which is watched over and over throughout the years. Then one day as adults they meet by chance and eventually realize they met once before, a long time ago, in the most happiest place on earth!!! Laughing…. come on, you know you can imagine that, what a wonderful Disney movie that would make!!! Hahahaha! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Okay, okay back to the real TR here. LOL. With our tummies rumbling by now, we decided we would grab some lunch. This is the part where my DH decided to veer from the plan. Remember when I mentioned his lack of interest in actually “planning” all the small, necessary details of this trip. He said he would leave the decision making to me and that he would be happy no matter what. Well I made him confirm that this included all our ADR’s. Haha…I know him too well. He likes good food and he likes to eat, what man doesn’t, right? LOL. Since we were now staying at the Wilderness Lodge our Disney Dining Plan kicked in. For today’s lunch we were “supposed” to eat at a counter service establishment. As we walked around MGM, we came upon a quaint little restaurant named “Mama Melrose’s”. Well as soon as DH saw it he wanted to eat there. Knowing that this would alter our dining credits and that we were scheduled to eat dinner at the Kona Café located in the Polynesian, I tried to convince him this was not the best idea and not on the plan. However, since we were having such a wonderful day and he really wanted to eat there I relented and said okay. I am really not that big of a control-freak….hahahaha. Well let me just say that by the time my food came out I was kicking myself for that decision. Our experience at this restaurant was not a very good one in the least. Maybe we just got there on an off day or something, I don’t know, but the service was not very good and our food was far from appealing. It was a poor decision and I was bummed that we would be missing our dinner now at the Kona Café. Earlier we figured if we ate there for lunch we would just find some counter service place for dinner. Knowing that we both a little disappointed, my DH told me we could still eat at the Kona Café and just pay for it out of pocket. I had read on the DISboards that the Kona Café was one of those hidden gems when it came to dining at WDW. We just had to eat there!

Since the Muppets 3D show was close by we figured we would check it out. After waiting in a short line we were soon let in. We found our seats and enjoyed the show. As we exited, we realized the 3pm “Hollywood Holly-Day Parade” was about to start so we found a nice spot and waited. Disney parades are awesome; we had really enjoyed the one we saw at the Magic Kingdom. The MGM parade was no different; we loved it. Here are a few pictures of our favorites!

Continued from previous post:

Our little one was getting a bit anxious by the time the parade ended, so we decided to just kick back a little and let her run around and run off some energy. While doing so we caught a bit of those 3 guys with the cones, I can’t think of their names right now. The stores were calling my name, so a little shopping came next. After awhile we decided to head on over to the Monorail station and get going to the Polynesian Resort. What a nice hotel. We loved the fact that the monorail went directly to and from this hotel. What a benefit that is to stay there. I must say I do love the Monorail much more than the buses, it’s a shame that it does not travel to all the resorts and parks!!

She loves walking along the edge of the sidewalk! Haha.

Just hanging around.

The Narnia Set….she had no clue what this was, but it didn’t matter.

She kept saying this snow wasn’t cold. Haha.

Hmm…she thought maybe this spot would be a good one for a nap. NOT!

Here I am with my little sweetie!

We had an early ADR for the Kona Café, so after checking out the resort for a bit we made our way up to the restaurant. We could see tons of people waiting for that other restaurant, the luau one but we got seated immediately at the Kona Café. Oh my goodness let me tell you this place ROCKS!!! The food was absolutely delicious; I don’t think it could have been any better! For an appetizer, I ordered the scrumptious “Lump Crab Cakes” and DH picked the “Creamy Kona Seafood Chowder”. Unfortunately for him, our little one loved his chowder and ate most of it. Haha, lucky for me, she was not too keen on my crab cakes. No worries though, I was nice and shared “some” of them with my sweet husband! Haha. For the main course, I had a delicious teriyaki sirloin strip, yummy mashed potatoes (my favorite) and broccoli florets. My DH ordered the filet mignon, which came with mashed potatoes, asparagus and 5-spice mushroom sauce. He said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had and for him that is saying a lot! Even though we were getting quite stuffed, we still had some desert coming our way. Earlier we had decided to just use more of our table service credits for this meal so desert was included!!! Hahaha. Our little one enjoyed sharing my “White Chocolate Cheesecake” and Dh’s “Apple Brown Betty”. She definitely had a sweet tooth, that is for sure! Oh my, we were overstuffed and could not eat it all. This restaurant was wonderful and we both agreed that whenever we make it back to WDW, we will be sure to have at least one reservation here! If you have not given the Kona Café a try, do so!

With dinner over now, we decided to head back to the Wilderness Lodge and check out our room. We had called earlier in the day and had been told what our room number was. Again, we felt so lucky to be able to stay in this beautiful resort for a couple days. It really is quite stunning. Our room was really nice and was up on the 4th floor, looking out toward the grand lobby! One of my favorite things were the lovely rocking chairs right outside our door, that looked out and down onto the lobby! It was quite peaceful just sitting there with my little girl, rocking and taking in all the beauty.

I have a friend who lives in Florida and we had planned to get together that night. She came down with a friend and met us at the Wilderness Lodge. This was the first time she was able to meet our daughter. Of course she had seen plenty of pictures since day one! Laughing…I only have about a zillion and one pictures of her so far! Hahaha. Anyway, we got some drinks and chatted away into the night. DH had taken the little one back to the room once she got tired. After a bit we decided to walk down by the lake and low-and-behold we were just in time to see the water parade. I was a little sad that DH and DD were missing this but I figured we could try to catch it again later in the week. After lots of hugs and goodbyes to a friend I have known since I was in the 1st grade, I made my way back up to our room and crashed next to my DH, who was fast asleep!

I'm jumping in here on your thread.... I am really enjoying your TR! Your pictures are great and your family is so sweet. I love your gentle words about your family... I read these reports and wish I could have a do-over and mine would be little again (but only if I could be younger too!:;) ).

You seem to really be enjoying your daughter and appreciating every moment with her. I wish I had "stopped to smell the roses" a little more often when mine was little. Good for you for doing this!

Keep up the good work... we're waiting for another installment.

Your little one holding hands with the little boy and the kiss and the hug and everything has to be one of the cutest things ever. Your love for your family really shows through with everything you talk about. Cannot wait for the next installment. popcorn::
