After the meeting with the princesses, we got back in line to meet Daisy Duck Once we had finished we went back through Minnie and Mickey’s house as that is what the little one wanted to do. We then met back up with DH, and decided to take a spin on the teacups. Well as we approached the ride, whom do we see but Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. Our daughter loved that movie and I thought for sure she would talk to Alice, but nope, once again, she was not going alone. Oh well, DH managed to get some video of the interaction on video and it is quite funny to watch.
A hug for Daisy Duck.
I love the way she has her nose pressed up to Daisy's beak.
Uh oh, look where her hand was headed.
There was no way she was going to talk to Alice or the Mad Hatter without me.
We found Donad's Christmas Tree lot...aww!
I love the way they are leaning into one another.
This is one of my favorites.
Anyway, we said goodbye and DH took DD on the teacups while I tried to get a good shot of them spinning around. She had fun spinning around with Daddy and then we all went on it again. After that ride it was about time to meet up with my Dis friend Heather so we all headed over to Cosmic Rays.
I love her smile in this one, she had a lot of fun on the teacups.
I think she was a tad dizzy afterward but not enough that would stop her from going again.
Back home, when I first mentioned to my husband that I was planning on us meeting one of my DIS friends, he thought I lost my mind. He just didn’t get why I would spend hours reading the DISboards, making plans and chatting with fellow Disney lovers. He just didn’t get it and would often just laugh or give me a crazy, wicked grin, but I knew, at some point in our trip he would thank me.
My husband is a good guy though and deep down had no problem meeting my DIS buddy. I think I was the nervous one at first, though I am not really sure why. We had been chatting for quite some time and had even spoken on the phone. As we walked into Cosmic Rays, she spotted us first and came right up to us. It was like we had been friends forever, she is a very sweet person and I am so glad that we had the opportunity to meet. She was there with her husband only, as this was a quick trip for her without the kids. I don’t believe I would ever want to go to Disney without my little one; and I don’t think she will ever do that again either! (Smiles). Anyway, we all had a nice lunch and afterward we said goodbye, as they were heading on over to another park.
My husband and I thought we would experience some of the rides there in Tomorrowland since we were right there. We wanted to take our DD on the Buzz Lightyear ride and go for a cruise in the racecars. As we parked our stroller and started walking, we ran right back into the friends we had just met for lunch. Hmmm…. were they stalking us? Laughing….no, we had forgotten to take some pictures together so they came back looking for us and I am glad they did. Here are a couple of the pictures Heather sent to me. Thanks Heather!!! (And yes, for those of you who may be wondering, this is the same gal who “challenged” me to write this TR in the first place and has YET to start one of her own!! I guess that means I win by default!!! Hahahahahaha).
A DVC cast member kindly took this photo of all of us.
Our little one loved this silly statute!
Just hanging around here, checking things out.
Our little one just loved that Buzz Lightyear ride and wanted to go on it over and over and over again. She calls it the Buzz Space rider…hahaha. After that, it was time to head back to Main Street for our private meeting with Cinderella. I wished we had time to go get her Cinderella dress from the hotel, but we didn’t. That would have been perfect for pictures but no biggie as we had dinner reservations at 1900 Park Faire later on that week. She would be wearing her dress then.
The private meeting with Cinderella was very special. It wasn’t rushed at all; Cinderella took her time talking to our daughter and even managed to get her to respond. I could tell she was still a bit hesitant but afterwards she told us “Cinderella loves her”. Aw. I think maybe the next time we go to Disney World; she will be a little more open to the whole idea of the princesses. Right now, she is love with Minnie, Mickey, Donald and Goofy, oh and I better not forget Chip and Dale!!!
Waiting for our private meeting with Cinderella, the little one kept herself busy.
Up and down the stairs.
Over and over again.
Awww she was warming up to Cinderella!
I adore this picture, love the way she is keeping a close eye on us!
Finally a real hug for Cinderella!
After our royal engagement, we spent some time letting the little one play with the “sets” located in that same shop. .
Once done with that, we headed over to the other side of the park and rode around with some ghosts, flew on some magic carpets and then spotted some pirates. By then our tummies were rumbling and we decided to get a little snack. Our daughter and I spotted the popcorn and had to have some, and DH found some ice cream. Once we were satisfied and no longer hungry we thought it might be nice to see the Country Bear Jamboree. We headed over in that direction but got stuck over by Splash Mountain due to the 3pm parade. No worries from us though, as we enjoyed the parade the day before. Once we were able to, we made our way to the Country Bear Jamboree. I have to say that with everything we had experienced thus far with Disney, this show seemed to be lacking something. In our opinion, the sound system was very poor, we could barely hear some of the show. Our little one had fallen asleep on DH’s lap and since we were sitting at the end of an isle, right next to the exit, we decided to skip out and head back to Main Street. I wanted to get a little shopping in before we staked out a spot for Wishes. The weather had grown increasingly colder and I wanted to pick up something to put over our little one’s sweatshirt so she would not be cold while we stayed for Wishes.
Due to the severe change in the weather, I think a number of people had the same idea, as the stores were packed and everyone was buying whatever they could to keep warm. I am not kidding you, the wind and the cold was so bad that night. My Dad even called us once he saw the weather on the news. He wanted to see of it was true and yes, it was bitter cold. We get a lot of snow and cold weather where we live so it wasn’t like we weren’t used to it; it was just that we were not prepared for it in Florida!
Of course she wanted to sit by Minnie Mouse.
I LOVE this picture.
Touching Minnie to see if she was "real".
LOL...Not quite sure what she is doing here!! Hahaha.
We managed to get a viewing spot at the end of Main Street, right in front of the big Christmas tree. I figured that way, once Wishes was done, we could high tail it out of there and bypass a lot of the crowds. We were lucky in the fact that we could lean up against the rail that surrounded the Christmas tree display.
Wishes was incredible. What a spectacular display of fireworks, we loved it! Once again, I felt so good standing there with my family, enjoying every minute of it.
We left the park and took a bus to the Boardwalk. We checked out the hotel there and then thought we would get some dinner somewhere along the Boardwalk. It turns out those restaurants were just way too crowded and we could not get a table. Plus it was freezing so we decided to just walk back to the Dolphin and get something to eat there. We ended up at Picabu …, which in our opinion was not very good. The little one’s Mac’ n Cheese was ice cold, the nachos were stale and the steak was fatty. Laughing, oh well, we needed to get back to our room to pack, for the next morning we were moving into the Wilderness Lodge! I could barely wait, from the pictures I had seen, that hotel looked amazing!
Side note: Before we left home, my husband had told me he his new laptop computer had a CD burner installed. Well to make a long story short, it did NOT. I panicked, knowing I would have to cut back on my entire picture taking. I would not be able to burn the pictures on all the CD’s I had brought with me. We ended up removing a number of programs to free up some hard drive space, which I ultimately used all up. Laughing…my point is if you plan on taking tons of pictures, make sure you either have a CD burner, have enough space on your hard drive or have multiple memory cards or be prepared to pay a high amount to burn them there at Disney. (Smiles)
