GOOFY'S BARNSTORMER & THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PARK:
After leaving the characters behind, we asked our little one if she wanted to ride on Goofy’s Barnstormer. We watched it zip by a few times and she soon said she wanted to try it. A man in line with us asked my DH if he would ride with one of his young children as he had two. So as DH rode behind us, DD and I buckled in. As the ride took off DD glued herself as close as possible to me. For a little kid’s ride in ToonTown , I was amazed at how fast it whipped us around, here and there. It was a real roller coaster, just a tad on the short side. Now, I don’t believe I told you but I am not all that fond of roller coasters! Nope, not my thing. So I was a bit nervous as the ride was ending, afraid that I had just frightened my little one beyond all means. After all, the only other rides she had experienced before this coaster were those found in Fantasyland. Would I ever get her back on another ride? As we came to a complete stop and I was finally able to make eye contact with my DD, she yelled, “
Can we do that again”??? Laughing…. NO! Just kidding. Good ole Dad took her for another spin.
After that we headed over to the Haunted Mansion. We had been talking about this ride for months. Halloween is a favorite holiday around here. We decorate the house and spook the neighbors pretty good. Our little one loves all kinds of spooky Halloween stuff. I know this is not Disney related but I just have to share this picture with you. I think you can see by it that she definitely is not a scaredy-cat when it comes to things such as this.
Taking her lil' skeleton for a walk? Hahaha.
Anyway, she was in total awe during the whole Haunted Mansion ride. She really liked seeing the ghosts fly around the dinner table. At one point she turned to me and said, “
They're just pretend Mom”! My cute little girl, remembering what I had been telling her for months! Aww.
Outside the Haunted Mansion.
Just taking a little break so DD could run around for awhile. (I love the look of the Haunted Mansion in the background).
Say cheese!
After the Haunted Mansion our bellies were grumbling so we decided it was time to take a break and eat some lunch. We ended up at the Columbia Harbor House and ordered some chicken and fries. The meal was okay but the service was wonderful. I have to tell you this little story. I had been so thirty that I drank my soda down too quickly and asked my DH if he thought they gave refills. (What did I know…this was our first meal here)? He went up and asked and was told no, however, as soon as he got back to the table this wonderful cast member appeared, asked what I was drinking and snagged my cup. We told her, no, it was okay, we could buy another one but she insisted on this one free refill. She was just so sweet and I couldn’t help but think how wonderful our whole experience had been so far.
After lunch, as we were walking toward the Pirates of the Caribbean, the little one spotted a “fox”! She started yelling, “
hey fox, hi fox, whatcha doing fox”. It was one of the funniest things ever, even the fox thought so as he immediately started to wave to our little one. For me, their interaction was one of the highlights of the trip. As you can see in these pictures, they had a blast together and our DD still, to this day, talks about “
her” fox. Hahaha. (Hope I am not adding too many pictures, I just wanna share...LOL....

)
Approaching the fox.
Thinking about hugging him.
Okay, going in for the big hug.
Yikes, he got me!
Sneaking a peak.
I love you fox!
Goofing around with her new best friend.
Goodbye Mr. Fox.
Next up was the Magic Carpet ride. DD thought this was great, especially the spitting camel. My DH decided he was going to videotape this one so I took the little one on alone. As we were waiting for the carpets to take off, the lady in front of us asked about the spitting camel. I kindly teased her saying that unfortunately she was on the carpet that ALWAYS got soaked by the camel. Now seeing her brief concern I quickly told her I was just kidding and that this was my first time on the ride too. She laughed…. and we took off. I think I jinxed her a little though because that camel really did get a couple good shots on her during our flight. Afterwards she gave me this funny look and we both started laughing. Whoda thought???
Finally we approached the Pirates of the Caribbean, parked our stroller and took off down the very empty path. I have to say now this is one of my favorite rides. We all loved everything about it. The little one loved the boat ride and thought it was so funny when she saw the doggie with the keys in his mouth.
After the ride we decided to stake out a spot for the 3pm Wishes Parade. We got a spot there by Hall of Presidents and sat down. An elderly couple sitting behind us started to play peek-a-boo with our DD. They were so friendly and kept the little one occupied while we waited the short time before the parade started. The parade was just wonderful and we truly enjoyed it. The little one was in awe of all the characters and the music. Once she saw Tigger and yelled out his name, he came over and shook her little hand. Luckily, I had my camera ready and captured the moment. It was so sweet.
Waiting for the parade to start, our DD kept time with the cute elderly couple behind us.
The beginning of the parade.
A weird angle, but I love this picture. I remember exactly how special our little one felt after this.
Two cute mice.
Alice and the MadHatter.
Captain Hook!
Grumpy.
With the parade over, we decided we would leave the Magic Kingdom and head over to MGM Studios. The plan was to get there early enough to find a good seat for Fantasmic. We figured we would just pick up something quick to eat there since we were not on the
Disney Dining plan just yet. So off we headed, through Main Street and toward the boat docks. As we exited the park and were about to board the ferryboat, our little one fell and ended up hurting herself. A large bump was forming on her cheekbone and I wanted to get some ice on it right away. However, as we soon found out, there is nowhere outside the park entrance or on the ferry where one can get some ice. So DH ran all the way back up to the entrance and re-entered the Magic Kingdom while I sat comforting our little one. He soon came back with a cup of ice, which we quickly applied to DD’s cheekbone. As I cuddled her close, my DH told me he had to assure the lady at the First Aid Station that we did not need any additional medical assistance. I thought that was a good thing. Anyway, we sat there for a while just talking and holding our DD. She is not one to cry for very long and soon she was feeling much better. Her cheek was red from the ice, the bump was going down but a bruise was already appearing. My brave little girl, she just wanted to get back down to the ferryboat and go for a cruise! So off we went!
Next up….Fantasmic, the Wrong Bus and a Hotel Intruder!!! OMG
