She passed away earlier in the week, but I haven't been on the internet since then because we traveled to the funeral and were busy with that and family.

It wasn't unexpected (she was 83 and very frail), but we were supposed to see her on the 27th for Christmas. I just bought her gift two days before she died. :sad1: We thought that we'd see her at least one more time. It's hard to lose a loved one anytime, but to lose a loved one at Christmas time is rough. We will miss her.

I'm trying to be supportive to dh (he's doing OK overall) and the kids, but I just want to curl up into a ball and cry sometimes. Give all of your loved ones a hug tonight. I'm going to treasure the time I have with the loved ones I'll be with during the holidays.

 :sad1:
I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

I am sorry for your loss. Our first Christmas without my stepfather.

 So Sorry for your loss~we lost my MIL a year ago 12/22 (which is also my stepson's birthday~he passed away 6 yrs ago April at 22 yrs old) Our situation was very much the same as yours~she was 84 yrs old and in frail health. Doctors were sure we would lose her in Oct of 2007~we were lucky to have her with us until Dec. We had also gotten her a Christmas gift~a really nice pillow~that DH sleeps with now:goodvibes Sending lots of hugs to you and your DH~I understand your feelings, if your MIL was anything like mine~she would want you both to live life to its fullest and remember her this holiday season with fond thoughts :flower3:

Sorry to hear that.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We just buried my grandmother today. She passed away on Monday. She was 86 but it was very unexpected. My uncle had visited with her at the assisted living facility in the morning and she was fine. He received a call at 3 pm that she had passed away. She had taken her usual nap after lunch and when they went to check on her she was gone. We were just grateful that she went peacefully. She was my last surviving grandparent.

I'm so sorry for your loss! My MIL passed away on Christmas day in 2003. It made Christmas of 2004 pretty tough. We lost my father last fall. The holidays are always a tough time after a loss of a loved one. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I hope your holiday is restful and that you can still have a pleasant celebration.

Hug and prayers to you and your family, Kelly.

I'm sorry. I know how difficult it is. We lost my FIL at Thanksgiving, and this is our first Christmas without two loved ones.

I'm sorry for both your losses.

 I'm sorry. My MIL passed away two and a half years ago, and it was terribly hard on my husband. She had been ill for some time, and we knew she was terminal, but even if you know it is coming you are really never prepared when it comes. Hugs and prayers to your family.
