Our new DS arrived August 19th and weighed in at 8 lbs 8 ounces!!! ::MickeyMo

Just wanted to share my story of a helpful DVC'er. Unfortunetly it was a rough delivery and new DS ended up in NICU for a few days with breathing difficulties. So after recovery I was brought up to the maternity ward with no baby which of course was very distressing.

My nurse came in and introduced herself and helped me get situated. She saw my Mickey WDW bag and asked if I had recently been down. We soon got to talking and found out we were both DVC members! Throughout the night Jane came by and sat and talked with me about Disney and DVC and the plans we had for taking DS on his first WDW trip in Feb. It really helped me through a tough first night without DS in my room and helped me talk about something enjoyable and focus on future happy plans with DS. Thanks Jane!

DS was released from NICU in two days and is doing wonderfully at home! :) DH, DD & I are so looking forward to bringing DS to WDW and getting that first family of four photo with Mickey & Minnie in February!!! ::MinnieMo

I'm so glad your precious baby is well and home with you now!

Congrats to you and your family.

And "it's a small world", isn't it?? :)

Congrats on your new bundle of joy! It's great that you had such a nice nurse, and one who you had such a fun thing in common with :) My cousin had the nicest labor/delivery nurse when she had her second son. I was in the room with her when the nurse came in to chat with us. The nurse was pregnant too, so of course they had something great in common. The weird thing is that my cousin remembers NONE of this...she must have been on some serious painkillers, LOL:p ;)

I'm so glad your baby is okay and home now! And of course that you had such a wonderful nurse! It was definitely good that she could get your mind on WDW at such a time!!! It IS a small world after all!!!!

Again, glad you are all doing well--I'm having a c-section this Friday! (So I was definitely interested when I read your topic line!)

COngrats and glad that everything worked out well!

Best wishes on your new son. He was born on my twins Birthday August the 19th!
They two had breathing problems and one spent 3 days in the NICU and the other about 12 hours there. I truly understand how you feel. It is just awful not to have them with you. I don't think I put mine down for a month after! Congratulations again!

I'm a L&D RN who is a DVC'er and I work with several other co-workers who are also DVC'ers. Glad you had a good experience during your stay at the hospital. Glad to hear your ds is doing so well :D

congratulations on your new arrival.

I'm glad your experience was made better
by your nurse, they trult are angels.

Congrats of you DS - I'm glad everything worked out well.

That's so funny about meeting another DVCer. Seems everyone in the room was when I gave birth - 2 nurses, the doctor and us. The dr was asking one nurse about the trip she just got back from while I was being prepped to push. My DH and I got in on the conversation - giving birth was almost an afterthought! ;)

It's funny when you get us Disney people together......

Congratulations on your new son! My "baby" son was born Aug. 19th, 27 years ago. I think the sign is Leo. I'll tell you that he has a very strong personality!

I'm glad you had such a wonderful nurse and that things are going so well for you now.

Congrats on your new baby! :jumping3: What a great thing to have happen when you're in such an emotional position. My DD had to be in the NICU for her first 24, and it was pretty hard for me too. How awesome was it that you had a fellow DVC family member in there to help you through!

I hope all is well now, and congratulations again ~ :flower:

Thank you for all the congratulations and good wishes! :)

DS is doing wonderfully and growing very well and I'm also recovering well. I certainly don't have as much time to read the DVC boards anymore but love to sneak peeks when I can and we are all so looking forward to bringing DS to our second "home" at BWV in Feb!!
